When I asked for music from a friend, he gave me a lot of Andrew Bird. Dude seems to have quite a range. I haven't heard it all, but I like what I've heard.

I don't know much about Pink Martini, but the vocalist has a young, vibrant and beautiful voice and I want to kiss her. I've heard some original songs, but mostly I like their standards.

Check out Machinae Supremacy.

Their fan-run myspace page has some songs on it. I ****ing love these guys. They got a mix of 8bity sound effects thrown into metal/rock stuff.

They've also got a LOT of free songs you can get off their site in the webography section. They released them all on the internet before they even had a record deal or anything, so they still are free. They also did the soundtrack to Jets N' Guns game. The OST is in the same section.

The Swedish metal act MACHINAE SUPREMACY has already made their place in history by being one of the first bands to successfully embrace and utilize the internet and filesharing to gain a huge fanbase before ever having signed a record deal, received airplay or any form of sponsored promotion.

I like this one. Its the most video gamey of their songs.

Oh, if you want some good mid-period, intelligent hip hop with very little (if any) swearing, check out Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy. Their best song is Television, the Drug of the Nation.

And the song "Throw Some D's" by Rich Boy is a good one.
