1. IMPORTANT INFORMATION-
This file is meant as a guide to Ice Scream: Cherry Dipped Doom. There is a
walkthrough here if you get stuck. I've tried to make the game fairly easy, but
since I made it I'll always think it's easy. Just because my testing shows that
the final boss can be beaten easily even without proper equipment doesn't mean
players will be able to do it.
Getting started is fairly simple. Load the DexPlorer program and transfer the
5 blocks of system data as well as the 6 blocks of scenario data to a blank
memory card. Plug in the memory card to your PS, load up RPGM, and begin.
Remember your good RPG strategies. This game can be easy or hard depending on
how you play it. If you buy plenty of good equipment and healing items, and
remember to keep your MP high for powerful area attack spells, you'll be fine.
The next section is a walkthrough. However, it isn't very well written--it's just
meant to be helpful if you get stuck a little. I highly recommend enjoying the game
without the guide. If you must know something, though, it's here.
Have fun! Thanks for downloading "Ice Scream: Cherry Dipped Doom." Hopefully, your
sense of humor is as sick as mine is at times.

   Some game fundamentals-
-> The only inn in Ice Scream has no vacancies. Instead, you'll heal by purchasing
food at any of the fine Health Food stores around the world. You can also heal and
gain some EXP at the same time by buying a steak from the restaurant in Damien.
-> HP restorative items are known as Milks.
-> MP restorative items are known as Cookies.
-> Berries of any sort are used to increase your stats.
-> Alex can equip two weapons; Dr. Vincent cannot.
-> Talk to people and investigate lots of things. Sometimes what looks like decoration
isn't. Then again, sometimes what looks like decoration is. You never know with me.
-> You learn a new spell every level. Your best friends will be your low level area attack
spells, Psy Wave and Mag Wave. These are the keys to kicking ass.

2. WALKTHROUGH-
 2.a. EXPOSITION-
The scene opens innocently enough. A man in a white lab coat reclines at a table
in the center of a large, wooden building. However, within seconds a scientist
rushes to inform this man of a disturbing development.
Guide Dr. Vincent (the man in white) to the scientist. Speaking with the other
scientists is pointless, but it could be worth a look if your sense of humor is
 as twisted as mine.
The stage is set with some dialogue. Apparently there is a volcano under the city
of Lillian. The scene fades away to black.
When the color returns to the screen, you'll notice a man in blue. Meet Alex,
a resident of Lillian. Looks like his grandmother has something in store for him, so
he heads up to meet her. Make certain you follow Alex's advice, in that you should
definitely have at least one Small Milk left when you reach Grandma.
You'll need to follow the winding path though Colos Ridge. Ignore the geological
station--it is irrelevant. Follow the path to the east and you'll meet Reptile.
Reptile is actually a boss creature of sorts. He's got around 45 HP and a mean attack
(yeah right. 2 damage or so.) Defeat him with physical attacks--don't waste your MP.
He drops a "laser pistol." This will be your primary weapon of war for a little while.
Make your way along the path. Before you hit LV3, use the laser pistol on any enemy
you fight to kill it with one hit. After LV3, you can kill Cobra one hit, anyway, so
save your bullets. You'll get about 3-5 uses of this weapon, but it's possible to break
 it on your first use.
In the next area, make sure to pick the Raspberries off of the bushes, then proceed to
Grandma's house. During the event, you're rewarded with 3 Cookies if you brought Milk.
 Otherwise, you get zilch.
The way back to Lillian is the same way you came. Upon arrival, you'll watch some events.
As a note to those of you who doubt me, I work at a Dairy Queen, and I dip ice cream cones
in cherry dip all the time (well, a couple times a day, anyway.) The sauce is kept at 150
degrees Fahrenheit, and when the ice cream enters, a small amount of sauce freezes on the
surface of the dessert. It's actually really good, in my opinion.
Anyway, you'll end up headed to the town of Damien, the largest town in the game, to
speak with a certain Dr. Wesley about the fact that a tasty treat has just consumed a
city. From this point on, you will be in control of both Alex and Dr. Vincent. You will
never lose that control, nor gain any more characters. Use them as you see fit.
In Damien, make sure you check the gray basket for $100. In the houses, aside from some
silly jokes, you'll find a woman who can't catch her cat. Performing this easy task will
net you an additional $10. Armed with all the money you've collected so far (hopefully at least
90 in Colos Ridge and 110 here), you need to check out the stores at the southern side of
town. Buying a hot dog from the health store is like resting at an inn in this game. If you
buy the more expensive food from the restaurant, you'll get some EXP in addition to a full
heal, but the EXP is negligible (3 to 5 points.) Do as you will. Also, you might find more
raspberries or even some blueberries if you look. The pink bushes are nothing, but purple
ones give you Raspberries and blue ones, Blueberries.
The inn is in the north west of the town. It's a really big building with signs that say
"INN" hanging on poles nearby. You really can't miss it. Speak with Dr. Wesley to learn about
his dip factory to the north. You need to investigate to see if everything's working.
Again, make sure you've done some shopping. You should have Dr. Vincent at LV4 and Alex at
LV6 before you enter the next area, as well as (hopefully!) some Small Cookies from the Health
Shop. Small Cookies are the most cost-efficient way to gain MP in this game, and MP is very,
very important. You need your spells.
As you approach the dip factory, the screen will fade to black and you'll realize that you've
 reached

 2.b. CHAPTER 1-
Save your game. This dungeon is usually very tame. However, on rare occasion your first battle
will be against 4 Hybrids (a random encounter-style monster.) If this happens, you could very
 easily die.
You'll probably want to try exploiting elemental weakness in this dungeon. If you haven't
noticed, the 3 elements are Flame, Shock, and Psych. Alex has Shock spells, Dr. Vincent has
Psych spells. Flame... well... that's important later on, but suffice to say you can't learn
that element. The most powerful enemies are called Icicles. They are weak only to fire magic, so
if you brought along a Flame Cannon or something they're toast. Otherwise, stick to physical
attack against them. Hybrids are also powerful, but you can easily dispose of them with Psych
spells. One good Psy Wave and that's all she wrote. The other enemies are all weaker and have
no particular elemental issues to speak of.
The boxes are pretty easy, really. You can only move them once, and they only move in one
direction based on color. Also, all boxes of the same color move together, and they move until
any one of them hits something. Brown goes up, Blue goes left, and Gray goes down.
You can solve this puzzle by simply pushing the Brown up first, then Blue right, then Gray
down. If you try anything else, Alex will inform you that "it won't budge." Remember the order,
because when you leave you'll have to do it again from the other side.
In the next room the concern is a terrifying metallic guard. If you cross his line of sight,
he will nail your ass. He has 400HP and his attacks can hit for between 50-80 damage (depending
on which ones he uses.) Your best option? Push the boxes on top of him to destroy him.
If you just push the blue ones, though, one of them will get stuck on a brown one. If this
happens, exit the room and reset to start over. Make sure to push the brown ones before the blue,
and the robot will be crushed. Literally.
Finally, wind your way through the next room. The boxes at the bottom are a shortcut when
you're leaving, and the gray ones higher up are straight-forward enough.
In the last room you'll fight a pitiful snake-thing. It's got some powerful attacks but its
HP is somewhat low (150.) If you have trouble, you can kill him before he even gets a
turn with Volt + Psy Assault. Remember to equip the hammer he drops. If you bought a weapon
in Damien, now you can make Alex double weild. Dr. Vincent cannot double weild--his 'off hand'
prevents it. (but it does give him a nifty +2 to Guard!)
It looks like the end of the world. It's time to go to Kae Labs in Acceber and look for a
last ditch solution to save humanity from its own dessert items.

 2.c. CHAPTER 2
When you arrive in Acceber, you find that Kae Labs has been replaced with a Hot Dog King HQ
building. You can find the new HQ at the house just below the HDK HQ. After the story events,
your party will decide to grab a bite to eat while they try to figure out how to get more rocket
 fuel for the spaceship.
The hot dogs will cost $4 a piece.
Since it's obvious that these outrageous prices are what bankrupted the town of Acceber, you
need to mercilessly slaughter the Hot Dog King employees and return the money to its rightful
owners. After all, only an inhuman monster would be part of such a company, right?
Save your game and head upstairs. In this dungeon, you'll like your electrical attacks more.
They are especially good against the large colored bots you fight as random encounters. Don't
confuse these with the robot guards--the robot guards will kill you, the colored bots probably
won't. Otherwise, just remember to cast your area attack spells frequently. Often, casting
Mag Wave + Psy Wave will instantly win a battle.
The room with the pools has more robot guards. You can flip that switch by pushing the box.
After you do so and grab the hidden items, push the robot into the water. He's too stupid to
stop you. You can fight him if you want, but he'll probably kick your ass (and I think I put 2
per battle just to be sure.) You can grab some Milks from a chest on the south side of the
screen, then you need to sneak around the next robot and push him in, too. If you step in
front of him, he'll rip open your abdomen and pull out your guts. So don't do that.
The last two robots can be dealt with by pushing the barrel into the water. The explosions are
meant to show that they got confused and blasted the crap out of each other. Proceed to the
 3rd floor.
Here you need to kill the employees and get the keycard. The one in the bottom middle cubicle
 has the card.
On the 4th floor, you can save your game, then approach the door. You'll be attacked. You can
easily crush this pitiful group by casting Mag Wave and Psy Wave on the same turn. When you
go through the door, you'll wind up in the office of Evil Bastard, the head of Hot Dog King.
He is a boss, and he fights with the assistance of Assistant (imagine that.) Both enemies are
vulnerable to status effects, so a good Mass Quiet will help out a lot.
Enter the next room, save, and talk to the money. The events will lead you back to Acceber.
Speak with Julius to find out what's next.

 2.d. CHAPTER 3-
Looks like Windy Hollow isn't responding to your phone calls. You'll have to go tell them
that they need to evacuate yourself. I recommend spending your $1000 bonus on something big,
like a nice Energy Lance. Attack +60 ain't nothin' to sneeze at. But do what you want. Flame
Cannons might be a nice investment, by the way.
In the forest on the way to WH, you'll hear a disembodied voice. This marks the appearance
of a certain specter that will not let you leave WH. Continue on to the city.
You find when you get to WH that they're having a little problem with the undead. You see,
you're trapped in WH along with everyone else, and the world's about to explode (that's bad.)
You need to deal with the zombie issue before you can get back to escaping certain death.
The problem is that there are a number of undead who are only vulnerable to Fire attacks.
Most of the enemies here will react to your spells with a nice "ha! ha!" and some of them
are actually invincible except to fire. (that's why Flame Cannons are a nice investment.)
When you meet the mayor at his house, he tells you to search the houses in town for a secret
door. This door is actually in this house. Go to the bookcase-you shoud see the door behind it.
Talk to the bookcase to uncover the door and enter the caves of WH.
The puzzles here should be fairly simple. There is lava on the floor, and you need to cool it
to walk across. There are switches to control the water. You don't want to pull too few, because
then you can't cross the still burning lava, but if you pull too many, you'll flood the tunnel.
You can't go north yet. Head east, pull the switch, keep heading east, and pull two of the
three switches. Now you can go back and head north. Open to chest to find the VTHG. The VTHG
is like a Flame Cannon, except it doesn't randomly break and it does 9999 damage. Nice, huh?
Burn your way back to the entrance of WH. Remember that specter? You need to kill him.
Only the VTHG blows a fuse.
Fortunately, luck is about to be on your side in a way so ridiculous that you'll be taken
aback. Survive for 3 turns to end the battle. Alternatively, kill the specter by activating a
flame cannon 4 times in those 3 turns to end the battle and gain the most excellent cure item
"silky sheets." This allows you to heal HP, and it never breaks. It's not too good in battle,
but it'll keep you in tip top shape on the road.

 2.e. CHAPTER 4-
Time to tie up loose ends and leave the planet. This is a good time to check the next
section (the one about the extra stuff.) Otherwise, head to Acceber and talk to Julius
to begin the events that lead to the final battle.
There's a lot of story crap, then you fight. The enemy on the left has 800 HP and tends
to hit for about 40 DAM per attack. The other foe has 500 HP and only casts spells, but
can hit for as low as 0 (guarding) or as high as 176 (Psy Bomb.) He'll probably cast Psy
Attack for 44 on most turns, though.
The best way to do this is to keep healing with Alex while Vincent powers him up with
Increase and Enhance (and Augment, if you have it.) Once Alex's attack power is ungodly,
slaughter your foes to beat the game.

 2.f. EXTRA STUFF-

   FIXING THE VTHG-
When your VTHG blows a fuse, you get an item called the Busted VTHG. If you take it to
the repair man in the Weapons shop in Acceber, he'll tell you all you need is a Giant
 Fuse to fix the weapon.
But where do you get a Giant Fuse?
You fight a dragon, of course.
If you've already seen the ending once, you'll understand this a little better. Trek back
to Colos Ridge after finishing the events at WH and you'll hear about a "hidden mini-chapter."
Go to Alex's grandmother's cabin and you'll find her missing.
Alex will provoke a certain visitor, however. A gray dragon will appear and insist that you
get out. Say "make me" to fight this challenging foe. I recommend saving first.
???? has 1200 HP and can attack for either about 50 to all (Fury Breath) or about 80 to one
(Vortex Bomb.) If you manage to defeat ????, he will drop the Giant Fuse.
Take the Giant Fuse back to the Repair Man along with your Busted VTHG and he will give you
a permanently fixed VTHG. Yes, this means you can use it for 9999 against the boss of the game.
No, I don't care. You've already proven yourself by beating ????, of course!

   REMATCH AGAINST MEGA SHEETS-
Mega Sheets wants revenge for your stroke of luck. You can meet him in the room where
you found the VTHG. He has 800 HP and is only vulnerable to Fire. This means you should stock
up on Flame Cannons first (or simply fix the VTHG.)
Mega Sheets will drop an item called Silky Sheets as well as an item called the Ghost
Pin. Equip this to gain 75% defense against Psych. (Hint: the final boss likes Psych a lot.)
Silky Sheets will be your friend--it'll keep you at full HP outside of battle if you remember
to use it when you get injured. It's a cure item that never breaks. However, it's too weak to
be extremely powerful in battle--you only get 30 HP from each use.

   FACING PROTOTYPE-
The most powerful optional boss in this game is Prototype. You'll find him in the Kae
Labs HQ in Acceber between some bookshelves. Save your game before you do anything.
Prototype is a monster. In addition to having 3250 HP, he hits really really hard and
has several attacks that can kill you outright (damage = 200+ to one for some of these)
Most importantly, this guy isn't going to be vulnerable to the almighty one hit kill of
the VTHG. You see, he's immune to fire.
If you can get a status effect on him, by all means, do so. His RES stat is about 300,
though. Poison and Silence are the most ridiculous if you can pull them off.
Otherwise, your best bet is to stay alive with healing and beat when you get the chance.
He can't heal, so if you just heal and hit him occasionally he'll eventually die. However,
you should probably level up until you learn your last spells (Augment & Alpha Volt) at the
very least and spend some cash on upgrading your HP (more on this later.)
Beat him and you'll get an area attack weapon. However, you clearly don't need any more
power, as you've just defeated the greatest challenge in the game.

   Prototype- HP 3250, MP 1750
    Attacks:
     Normal Attack- 39%, Attack Power - 300
Shock Cannon- 33%, Damage (Shock, One) - 225
Mag Flash- 25%, Damage (Shock, All) - 150
Mag Breaker- 2%, Instant Death (One) - N/A
     Purify- 1%, Restore Status - N/A

   My recommended strategy:
    Preparations:
-> Make sure you have at least 150 HP for both characters.
-> Equip each character with an Insulator accessory (35% Def v. Shock)
-> Make sure Dr. Vincent knows Augment (Augment is learned at LV15.)
-> Equip Alex with two weapons.
-> Buy a LOT of the largest Milks you can find.
-> Buy a LOT of the biggest Cookies you can find.
-> Equip Alex with the Glasses accessory (ACC +25, it's on Dr. Vincent at game start)
and make sure he is at least LV16 (total ACC = 105)

    Strategy:
When the battle begins, have Alex cast Huge Shield to bring down damage from the
enemy's physical attack. Dr. Vincent should cast Augment on Alex. On each subsequent
turn, Alex should heal (he's faster than Prototype's ACC 100) and Dr. Vincent should
cast Increase/Enhance/Augment (whichever you can afford.)
      Prioritize like this:

       ->Healing Alex's HP
       ->Healing Dr. Vincent's HP
       ->Healing Alex's MP
       ->Healing Dr. Vincent's MP
       ->Casting Increase/Enhance/Augment
       ->Causing damage to Prototype

The idea is to load Alex up with such a ridiculously high Attack Power that he can
wipe out Prototype in a very short time.
Do not be complacent. Prototype won't ever really be stuck--even if he's unable to
kill your characters with Shock Cannon and Mag Flash, he may bust out Mag Breaker, an
    instant death attack.
      Good luck!!!

   UPGRADING YOUR STATS-
A saleswoman in the Damien Food Store sells berries that can upgrade your stats. They're
expensive and don't do much, but if you've got the money, they are an effective way to
raise your HP to withstand something like Prototype's Shock Cannon.

   BUYING ENERGY CAPS-
A guy in Acceber sells these little devices. They are one use items that steal MP from all
enemies. This means they have a kind of random effect, but you could get a lot of MP out of
one of these guys, so it might be worth it to buy these over Cookies.

3. CONTACT INFO-
You can contact me via e-mail at super-teedle@att.net. Remember, however,
that I rarely check my e-mail and that I probably won't respond in a timely
manner even if you're nice to me. If you're mean, well...
Anyway, I hope that I have eliminated the need to be contacted by including
this nice little walkthrough. However, should an issue arise that requires my
attention, do not hesitate to e-mail me. Such issues include major glitches in
my RPGM game or serious inconsistencies between the guide and the game. If there
are in fact major glitches, I will try to release an updated version of the
 game.
