    Eragon

Anyone gonna go see this movie?

I don't understand why the dragon(s) looks like snakes with wings. Is that the way they where in the book (I never read it)?

As much as I love Dragons, I am not interested in this movie at all.

I saw preview on fox last night and it kinda looks dumb. They're tying to do the whole Lord of the Rings/Harry Potter thing yet it's poorly done. But I've never read the book so I don't know. At least when Narnia came out it held up to the its name.
Everything is a Riemann sum of a lot of nothing.

Sounds like you have. I haven't read it either actually but 90% of what I've heard is that the book's a mediocre LotR rip-off that reads like you'd expect a book written by a teenager/preteen to.

I'll watch it on video. I'll watch just about anything, though.

I enjoyed Eldest (Eragon's sequel) a lot more than Eragon itself, and am actually looking forward to the third book.

I am against this movie on the principle that the whole thing's just Dragon with an E. I did read the first book and it did read like it was written by a 15 year old. The whole thing feels like I'm reading the script to an average RPGM game. I'm not going to knock it for being a LotR rip off because you can say that about 99% of the fantasy genre.

I'm willing to read the second book to see if the guy's learned how to write or not, but it's gonna have to fall into my lap. I'm not making any effort or spending any money to make it happen.

There was a trailer for the movie with Apocalypto last night and it actually did look pretty good, but it was a trailer. I'm probably going to end up seeing it this Christmas with my family, but it's still just dragon with an E.

I'd protest it but I don't want to look like a fool.

I don't think the dragon looks THAT bad. Still, like all fantasy movies, this could be cool or really friggin' dumb and cheesy. It's not giving me much hope with Malkovich in it (anyone see him in The Man In The Iron Mask?).

I read the book and I agree IRC. Pretty much all it is is a 19-year-old who had a dictionary and a copy of most of the classic fantasy novels, who decided to glorify himself in a very badly written format and ONLY got published because his family owns the book publishing company. >_< I may see the movie only because his book was only used as source material, but other then that, I don't want to have to pay nine bucks to see something Fox is pretty much showing all of anyways in their "Previews."

I may have to wait and see what the reviews are like, but I'm not thinking that they are going to be anything favorable.

This movie falls into the "it must suck because they have to advertise it every 2 seconds" category.

Therefore, I will not be seeing it.

Maybe I just don't like the style of the Dragon.

I liked the way Dragonheart looked.

I set that up so that someone would say "So the whole Pavilion saw it then?" but you ruined it, Chuck.

The author of eragon seems to have never had an actual conversation with a human either. all his dialogue is so stiff and lifeless. He was homeschooled his entire life and heavily sheltered by his parents, so I assume thats the reason.
