Sega to make "ALIEN" games - Ripley loses her rings!

    http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=17926

Sega has signed a deal with 20th Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising for a series of games based on the "Alien" movies, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The publisher is developing multiple next-generation and PC video games set in the "Alien" universe, including a first-person shooter and a role-playing game, with the first product to ship in 2008.

Rob Lightner, vp business development, said Sega is in talks with actors from the films, including Sigourney Weaver and Lance Henriksen, to reprise their movie roles by providing their likenesses and voice roles for the games.

Mike Gallo, senior producer of the "Alien" games at Sega, said the new games will not follow the strict story lines of any of the four films in the series but instead will provide a new experience by drawing from the history and lore that is the foundation of the films.
    BRING BACK MICHAEL BIEHN

Man, I really can't remember the last time Sega made a good game.

Michael Biehn needs to be in it.

They also need to make a straight up Colonial Marines game.

                Yes, both parts.

But the USMC only made up like 1/3 of those games, but I ****ing loved it.

There was one in development a few years back, but it got canned.

Yeah, the blip noise in AvP was spot on. Creepy ****.
"At first it just looked like a picture of a bunch of lily pads, but then I started scraping at it with my pocket knife and the whole painting just sort of spoke to me," Schmidt said. Bring us some hot epic sci-fi USMC action, baby!
Let's see things we haven't before:

                            - Lots of marine dropships, some going boom in the skies, others actually firing their weapons and missiles
                            - SULACO ship to ship battles VS an alien infested Sulaco type ship? (They do have guns on the top and bottom of their hulls)

What would really blow me away, is if they continued the ALIENS story and make it so Alien3 and Resurrection never existed.

In any case: Make it epic, or make it smart.

                              Exactly my hope.

The series/characters/mythology are ripe for video game interpretation. Hell, video games as we know them today owe the Alien series - ****, just the movie Aliens - EVERYTHING.

                              ...Jeez.

Sega's totally gonna fumble the ball.
