I'm asking on my cousin's behalf. He likes TRPGs, and he likes Mechs. He loves it when the two are combined. He tried Front Mission 4, and though he really enjoys the gameplay, he doesn't like all the talking. And while I haven't seen any T or SRPG that didn't have a lot of talking between missions, it doesn't help that FM4s are mostly still screens of scenery. Doesn't even show the people that are talking outside of the text box. So are there any other TRPGs with lots of mechs? Except Warhammer. He has the board version of that, and I think he'd prefer it over the video game version.

Re: Tactics RPG with Mechs, please?
Have you seen the cutscenes in Front Mission 4? I enjoy a good story like any other guy, but it's so bare-bones in FM4. I mean, you could make a book out of the cutscenes, and you wouldn't miss a thing. Like in one scene when a reporter comes up to the crew, it just shows a hallway with nobody in it. You only clue to what is happening is the text."What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

Mechcommander 2 would have been great, had it not been for the fact that it was made by Microsoft. Good game if it actually works on your PC, though. If the demo works, get that one.Last edited by JLaCroix; 04-05-2005, 12:54 AM.AIM: JeremyLaCroix

Neither of us can play imports (though I certainly wish I could)."What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

Ring of Red was the game I was thinking about... just saw a screenshot. About all I remember is the longer you aim the better chance you have to hit. I guess Kessen was just another case on the floor then.Last edited by KingSpoom; 04-05-2005, 01:51 PM.sssSSSpppPPPoooOOOoooOOOmmmMMM!!!
