    The Nintendo curse continues (DS)

Sooooo, I was playing FF5, and I couldn't run from battle. Thus I died. WTF? When I started back up and went back to the menu, I noticed I couldn't switch menus by hitting the L button. I tried other games...my L button officially died. Thank god for the Best Buy replacement program.

What's stranger, Xeno had to trade in his for the exact same problem (dead L button). Oh well, like I said, my replacement plan covers it. Maybe I'll get a pink one. Just kidding.

This is a known problem with the SP as well.

It's mostly caused by putting the system in a pocket, or other tight space that keeps the button pressed at odd angles for long periods of time. it wears out the sensors.

So far, I haven't had that problem with my DS. I'm usually gentle with the shoulder buttons unless a game begins to peeve me off.

Nintendo usually has a good track record of not having any technical issues with their consoles.

They did until the Wii launch, anyways.

I hear there were problems with the Wiimote. Was this with the first Wii launches?

As much as I want the Wii, I don't want to end up with a Wiimote that doesn't work properly.

Not that big of a deal. The piece that connects the strap to the wiimote was too weak so people flinging the wiimote around as hard as they can like retards would break the strap and smash their tv's.

I think the main problems were busted disc drives, some units asking for the startup disc which they did away with so its not included, and the update bricking the system. Those problems are pretty rare though but more of a problem than Nintendo's usually known for. The most common problem apparently is breaking stuff with the Wiimote but that's 90% the user's fault. Seriously, there's no reason to swing the thing that hard. Also I think half of the stories are fake.

: No way! That happens?! I'm guessing Twilight Princess has something to do with that. Or maybe Red Steel :P

Actually, it's almost always Wii Sports according to the claims.

                    EDIT: Worst Wii injury yet.

Amazingly, it was followed by a smile instead of a night on the sofa.

In the boyfriend's own words: "After guzzling a copious amount of 'wife beater' (Stella Artois), I returned home to find the girlie in mid battle with a Zelda 'Boss'. In my inebriated state, it was instinctual to become her knight in shining armour. I proceeded to take the controllers off her and fight the beast myself. Unfortunately, my courage was far greater than my skill. Having taken a good kicking, Liz then tried to intervene with disastrous results. She approached me from the side, appearing from my blind spot, whilst I was performing a slashing movement. I hit her with full force right in her eye!"
                    Yeah, likely story buddy.

                      Ouch >.<;

I was lucky enough to get a Wii two weeks ago on a first-come, first-serve basis. Bought the last one at my GameStop!

I tend to swing my Wiimote a little too hard too, sometimes, but so far, I haven't had the strap break on me. Thank goodness too!
