    So should I buy a Wii or a 360

I'm leaning towards the 360 cause of the game selection but the Wii commercials just look like so much fun. But I'm worried about problems I hear with the sensor thing for the wiimote.

Online play does not factor into my decision.

If online play doesn't factor, don't get a 360. It's gonna be a lot, lot more online-focused than Wii will be. And what sensor bar problems? My biggest beef is getting other people's controllers to sync with the Wii when we wanna get together. It's a bit of a crapshoot.

The problems I speak of are vague things I hear about people having problems with finding a good position for the sensor so it picks up the signal for the wiimote. I wasn't really paying attention.

I will most likely play both by myself. I don't like online gaming. I'm not a huge fps fan but if I had a 360 I'll probably pick up the next Halo and maybe Gears of War.

Games for the 360 right now are Saints Row and Rainbow Six: Vegas. Just Cause looks like it's going to be ridiculous but it is going to be available on the PS2.

For the Wii, I'm really only looking forward to the big M's. Mario, Metroid and Melda.

What Valk said...it really depends on the kinds of games you want. I'm really not all that convinced yet that FPS's and shooters will be solid on Wii, but they're already kickin' w/ the 360 (COD3, Gears of War, and Rainbow Six: Vegas are REALLY fun). On the other hand, the Nintendo games will be good, but Smash Bros. is set for summer and Mario is set for holiday '07.

Honestly, if I had to choose between the two, it'd be a tough call. If you have a kickin' PC and can get PC versions of the top 360 games, then I'd lean towards Wii. Wii has Zelda right now and that's pretty much it, but there's a lot of potential there (Madden was fun but really hurts from presentation & lack of online). I'd break it down like this:

360: Shooters, RPGs, Sports, GTA & clones, Pretty graphics & sound

Wii: Nintendo staples, Sports (maybe?), new ways to play (still a lil iffy though on sensor accuracy)

See that's pretty much the thing. I don't want to spend $300 on something that's just going to gather dust cause it has no game support.

My gamecube just looks so sad and I've already scavenged the batteries from my wireless controllers.

But I really really want to play Zelda.

you don't have any normal controllers?

you can't buy a 4 pack of batteries from any store in the country?

He can spend $300 on a console but not $4 on batteries.

                          Get a 360.

I would if this was my decision.

Sounds like you are already leaning towards the 360.

It is a very hard choice between the two, but for now, I would go with 360, but I have no idea what games will be coming down the line for the wii other than the regular staples of Nintendo.

I suggest PS3! then sell it on EBay and get both systems!
