I have heard good and bad things about it. I just want to know anyone elses opinion on it before I download it. My mother said she likes it, but this is my mother talking here :lol. Anyone's help would be appreciated. Right now I am running IE6.
Note:Please no IE bashing or suggesting alternete browsers (Firefox, Opera, etc.)

It blue-screened my old computer.
It errored out five times on my new computer.
I don't use it anymore.

I've had some difficulty with it, and decided to try firefox as an alternative. I'm back with IE7, which I prefer over firefox despite it's problems. at least IE7 can scroll and load pages correctly.

I don't have issues with Firefox scrolling and loading pages.

So Firefox bashing is ok then :). I also have never had problems with any page I've visited with scrolling, even with inner iframes and such, on Firefox.
Of course I haven't been able to try IE7 since it's for XP only and I have 2000. But from what I've seen it's just like every other browser out there finally. So I'll be staying with FF. Not just because I can't get IE7.
But I don't really see any reason not to upgrade to IE7 if you insist on using IE. It has tabs, it's more secure (well that's what they say anyway), and it looks flashier. Of course the taking away of the menu bar is baffling, but you can add it back, just it's under the navigation now.

IE7 is better than 6, but FireFox still wins buy a longshot...

I have IE, Firefox, and Opera on my machine. Each has a purpose.

No, the pages would occasionally stutter along while you scrolled. it wasnt smooth at all. in addition, new tabs wouldnt open right away. the tab would be there, but it took longer than IE to load the page. then when I tried switching from a loading page to one that was already loaded, the loaded page would appear as blank too, and the whole thing would lock up for a few seconds.
firefox just sucks on my computer, I guess. IE7 for me.

Terr, I would like to know what your purposes are for each browser.
Porn, niche porn, and kinky porn. Respectively.

IE = playing games in flash, watching videos
Opera = browsing with cookies off
Firefox = browsing with cookies on

Does Firefox not work for flash and videos on your computer, or does it just run better in IE?

Since I got IE7 I can't run my scanner. Maybe the two arn't related. Although maybe they are.
*edit*
Shut it down, they were.

I merely don't download the plug-ins for Firefox. Spyware and all. Each has its own degree of privacy and utility. A friend has also written a proxy server in C++ for use with Firefox, which comes in handy for a purpose I shall not mention in public.

I downloaded IE7 last night, installed it, and all of my borders would just show my background, so i went back to IE6, and i'm happy.
IE7 is just win2k and winxp exclusive isnt it? probably because every upgrade microsoft comes out with now is just for those
just leave us little win98 users behind....thats microsoft for you...
Ive never had a problem with firefox like valk is talking about, but then again, it probably works better in one OS then another

Nope. WinXP only, and of course Vista as well. No 2K though, which is the main reason I don't have it. It is weird that only XP can run it though, since 2K and XP are supposed to be on the same kernel. Yet they're really not compatible at all (especially on networking, where you think they would).
This is the same with Media Player 10, only for XP.
