Did they ever actually conclude the TV series, or was it just cancelled before it could finish? I watched this faithfully every saturday, but I'd hate to own the DVDs and know I could never see the ending and know what happened. :(

"I am doing good, no?"
"You are doing good NO!"
Ha ha, oh man, this is embarrassing and awesome.
I preferred this version over the goofy version.

That's like preferring a kick in the groin to evisceration.
Yeah, but we are often presented with the choice of lesser evils.

I like Robotnick better, yet i barely played sonic...

Eggman makes more sense but sounds less cool.
Despite not having a decent game in years, I would like to congradulate Dr. Robotnik on his success with next-gen Atkins.

thats my favorite part, then it goes all kill bill hahahahahaha
oh ****, oh my God, I'm so ****ing excited. I hope the same thing that happened to Pete and Pete doesn't happen to this.
How does Eggman make more sense than Robotnik?
John Mora

Because he always flies around in giant eggs and is kinda shaped like an egg.
But he turns everything in to robots. He doesn't turn anything into eggs.

...you know, I'd consider buying this, but I have the odd feeling my nostalgia for the show would be ruined by watching it again.
Just like every show from my childhood. Ever.

when you become part of the furry fandom every childhood cartoon ever gets ruined, its unavoidable.

Which is why most people avoid the furry fandom. that and the whole animal sex thing.
I have the odd feeling my nostalgia for the show would be ruined by watching it again.
I actually watched a few episodes of it recently, it still holds up really well.

It's like the X-Men cartoon. It was so great then but when I look now all I can think is how not great the art is. The storylines are great though so overall the show holds up but I keep thinking "Did it always look this bad? I don't remember it looking this bad."

You know the funny thing about this is not only did I have the theme song stuck in my head yesterday, but I was thinking of how neat it would be to have it on DVD.
*watches part of Youtubed episode*
Yup, that's Jaleel White, alright.
I don't want to get this cause it doesn't have an ending. I'd be great to actually get to watch all the episodes and stuff but then I'd get to the last disc and it'd just end and it would kill me.
Just like Dead Like Me.

It's Sonic the friggin' Hedgehog. Is it really gonna kill you to see it not definitively wrap up all Sonic lore? :P

At least the cartoon didn't catapult into elaborate, confusing insanity the way the Archie comic did. Somehow it's more convoluted than any DC or Marvel property I can think of.
THEN AGAIN THE CARTOON DIDN'T LIVE LONG ENOUGH

Does it really kill you with regards to all the crap that you neuotically complain about?
It's not really going to kill me but I don't like it when things don't have proper endings. How ****** would you be if Lost was suddenly cancelled right now and they weren't going to air any more episodes.
They should do what they did in the Mortal Kombat series, and kill off the entire cast. I'd watch that.
Thank's to Magus' post on the plot of the Archie comics my interest was piqued and I headed over to Wikipedia where I found this:
Major characters from the games [aside from Sonic himself] include Miles "Tails" Prower, who has been given the title of "Chosen One"
...What?

Exactly. Flip through the comic now and your brain will explode. I have no idea who the audience is. I can't follow the goddamn thing. Do you think kids can? I ****in' GREW UP with the comic and the character but so much stupid **** happened like reconciling the Archie storyline with the games' plots and the Sonic Adventure plots and throwing in human characters and SPLITTING TIMELINES and Knuckles has an entire family history... it tries to be dark and captivating but it's SONIC and TAILS so it just comes off retarded.
Gargoyles and Disney for the most part got the adult-themed anthropomorphism right. Sonic came close a few times but missed more often. I was shocked to find Transformers had such a history involving Transformer gods, etc. but Sonic's is just mindboggling. Why couldn't they just keep it simple? And hire good writers? :|
Cuz they had good arists. Patrick "Spaz" was the ****. It was such an event to have him illustrate a WHOLE ISSUE rather than simply a (misleading) cover.
OOOOOOOOH! I thought you were talking about the actual Archie comic book. Like with Archie and Jughead.

Pete and Pete holds up! as do pretty much all of the Disney shows (Goof Troops, Tail Spin, Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales, etc) and the Warner Bros./Spielberg cartoons (Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid, etc).
I've actually noticed that I'm able to enjoy stuff that I loved when I was a kid even more as I've gotten older.

I personally do not think Ninja Turtles holds up that well.

really? :(
(Goof Troops, Tail Spin, Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales, etc) and the Warner Bros./Spielberg cartoons (Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid, etc).
Oh all those shows I think Gargoyles, Freakazoid and Animaniacs hold up best. It's been a while since I've seen the others. I don't think I could watch Tiny Toons again. Tail Spin MIGHT hold up if it was only all Don Karnage all the time.
Gargoyles is soooo plot and character-driven. I love it. Freakazoid and Animaniacs have all those movie references and are just plain bonkers at times., so they're great, though Animaniacs suffers when it's not Yakko, Wakko and Dot.

Tiny Toons holds up pretty well, but I always hated the episodes where buster teaches the viewer how to be cool.

I liked the comics up till 75, and they kind of dropped till 100, then I was lost.
I never found out the whole plot thing where Sally died. <- spoiler.
I have one old VHS of that sonic, and will probably get the DVD's.
