You should have just requested a name change instead of making a entirely new account.
As for the main topic, recreating a game for RPG Maker 3 is pointless, and furthermore, not possible. It might be possible on RPG Maker 2, but it'd still be pointless.

Actually, it's in the rules that multiple usernames is a bannable offense, so I'd be careful about it.Originally posted by cLoUd-X-StRiFe View Postthis is my new user name just so u know. I do u see what you mean but what if i shifted it around a bit added things in from other games?
My response to anyone EVER making a game based off of something else, or even a remake, is DON'T. You can make so much with your own mind, and if it's just a minced half-hearted attempt to recreate something you love, it's going to stop short. (now this is before I played the Golden Sun remake featured for RPGM3, I'm still working on Raiders of Lukundar.) A carbon copy of someone else's work doesn't show any style or origionality, it just shows you can press print on a copy machine. I'd much rather see you do something on your own, with your own characters and own ideas, inspiration from other games is okay, just not a blatent ripp-off.
And make sure you have spell check before you submit it, it always helps!

Then again, it depends on what FF game you're copying... I mean, anything past FF7 would come out looking like garbage (in comparison: I know I've tried) but anything before that might be doable. Technically, most of today's RPG games have a lot of the same elements that the original NES/SNES/Genesis/Mega Drive games had (3-5 party members, fighting ancient guns, with pointed sticks) and yet nobody feels depressed or angry that FF 47 is comming out in July (for example: its not really)!!!
What the FF games did is although its a seris, its also a completely different game each time. If you tried to "copy" one but just gave everything different names (for example) or gave a different plot I'm sure most people would like it and wouldn't even think that you ripped it off.
On the other hand, originality has a lot to do with popularity, as well. (I think it was last summer's) contest winner was a game with a fully developed map and enemies and several town and quests but all you had to do to beat the game was walk around this hill and talk to a birthday cake. Granted, something like that doesn't have much replay value, but it is interesting and original. On top of that, it may have another ending! (I downloaded it a long time ago and haven't been able to play it much in the last few months) Something like this is a great way to flex your RPBrain and your Middle Ages Muscle at the same time.
Either way, you make the final call, but it all boils down to what you're trying to accomplish. If you're trying to copy a premade game, then changing things around isn't what you want to do. If you're trying to make a game for someone else, then ask someone else what they'd like to see and make a game for them. IF you're trying to make a game for yourself, well, then you need to ask yourself what you're trying to accomplish first.A God from the Machine - Menander

Is there another contest like that that will be coming around soon? It was before my time and it sounds like something I'd be interested inOriginally posted by Perversion View PostActually, I think Fatal Insanity won the contest, not the one with the birthday cake.
Maybe I'll just make it and release it anywaysalong with the other million games I'm working on
