I was squealing and cheering and laughing and having the time of my damn life watching this. This movie is PERFECT. This movie IS the books. This is FRANK MILLER'S Sin City!!!
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO. GOOD. I can't believe they did everything right, everything they were supposed to.
This is the most depraved, violent, sadistic, insane, most WONDERFUL movie.
But hell, I knew it would be.
What did everyone think?! Favorite parts? Favorite lines? Favorite performances?
This movie contains everything I hate about films..
The setting, the plot, the moderness of it all, the 'cops, mafia, gangs' crap and OMG HOT GURLS thing, the emotionless bad ass characters, the list goes on...
It contains everything you hate about films? Normally I respect people's opinions but yours makes me question whether or not you even like cinema.
Anyways, I thought the movie was brilliant, it was an artistic acheivement, a living breathing comic book, and it's not just that it looked good but the storyline it had to work with was to die for. It could have been a very pretty mess if Rodriguez hadn't translated the comics to the screen so literally and with such ferocity.
I could say more but it's 6 in the morning and i haven't been to sleep yet.
"At first it just looked like a picture of a bunch of lily pads, but then I started scraping at it with my pocket knife and the whole painting just sort of spoke to me," Schmidt said. "For the first time, I finally understand what Monet was trying to get across in her work."
