    Request for GIMP users: (Now the general GIMP thread.)

    So, my GIMP is screwing up. Seems that my fonts folder isn't working. Please, any gimp users, tell me where your fonts folder is and what files are in it. I need my GIMP back
    [EDIT: And yes, I did delete and reinstall. Twice.]

    Call me stupid but I dont know what GIMP is....hmmm

    anyhow if you uninstall it and reinstalled it twice there may be an error with your registry, uninstall usually does not delete all registry files, and if they are there when you reinstall it, they will not overwrite them.

    or maybe its just missing a cfg file or something, I dont know, just throwing some ideas out

    Have you looked online for a list?

      Gimp installed so many files and folders, I wouldn't know where to start looking. I notice though that it always seems to stall some when it gets to loading Fonts. I dunno if it's because of a technical issue, or there are just a ton of files in it.

      Oh, and Gimp is pretty much a free art application. So far it's a lot better than MS Paint, though I'm still learning how it works.

        Thats my problem. You say that it's just lag? Lemme try closing everything else I have running and check it out.

          GIMP is what i used before i got photoshop...it did help out a bit.

            Well, as long as this is turing into a discussion, here's the only drawing I've made so far using what little I've learned of it.

            Lineart done by hand, shading done with mouse and the fill option. And what a nice fill option it is. Sure isn't picky about what colors to fill like MS Paint is.

            I've got a long way to go, though. Oh well, at least my lineart's decent.

                    My gimp files are in /opt/gnome/share/gimp/2.0 and ~/gimp-2.0

                    The fonts directory in both don't contain any files though.

                    If you installed it via an RPM you could just uninstall it and reinstall it and see if it fixes the problem.

                      I have it and I know how to make the background transparent and cut and paste stuff. That's pretty much the extent of my knowledge. I know that I have to outsource texting to MSpaint because Gimp's text thing never works for me. It has a generic font and one size.

                      Seems like everyone's got a problem with GIMP.
                      The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.
