Since I didn't get to tell you what happened, I figured I should tell you guys.
I went to pick up Xeno from class at 10 pm on Tuesday. We swung by Circuit City to check out if there was a line, and there already like 50 people in line. Thinking for a second I said, "ya wanna do it?" We both agreed to, went to Meijer to pick up Magical Starsign for Xeno cuz he wanted in-line entertainment, and then we got bundled up, lawn chairs, and 2 comforters a piece.
Got there at 12 midnight...HOLY CRAP it was cold. On top of that, we were told that we were 106 and 107. My heart sank. Xeno felt guilty for having to stop by Meijer, so he said that he was staying. I said ok and agreed to stay with him. The sign said they had 95 to sell and 5 to give away.
Through 4 hours of being cacooned in blankets and trying not to freeze in the drizzling rain (unsuccessfully), I said I was going to head home and put one of the comforters in the drier since it was rain drenched and bring it back for Xeno, who was keeping our place in line.
I got 4 hours of sleep and returned w/ the blankets and breakfest from McD's. Still freaking cold. I waited there for a few hours and took off for work, even though the line was growing. Apparently we were already down to 100 and 101. "Alright, chance for at least 1" I thought. I didn't think I'd have a chance, so I headed to work until I came back around 6.
The other guys in line were ok w/ me coming back since they knew I was there last night and in the morning and at lunch as well. Still, the general rule is you couldn't be out of line for more than an hour. I was very lucky, but in all fairness I had been there longer more total hours then the people behind me.
More hibernation, more freezing. I could hardly play anything portable because my brain was frozen too, w/ a massive headache. On the 2nd night, I actually got some sleep out there as I took some Tylonol PM and fell asleep slouched forward. I woke up to an aching neck and back from the position.
On Thursday, Xeno and I went out our only time (other than bathroom breaks in store) to Panara to grab lunch real quick (about 15 minutes). We come back and EVERYONE had moved up for the Manager. We said "wtf?" but the guys behind us were like, "no guys, you were outta line when the line moved up, sorry." But, the guy ahead of us spoke up for us and the manager spoke up and said it's ok to be outta line for 15-20 minutes for bathroom or food or to warm up a bit.
As zero hour approached at 10 when they'd be handing out vouchers, the local radio station was there and gave us a slice of pizza each. Best slice of pizza in my life. STill freakin' freezing. Longest 3 hours of my life waiting for 10, but rumor had it that we were 94 and 95 now since people had left over the last few days.
During the moment of truth, an Indian family showed up outta nowhere, but their chairs had been there. They'd been away or had 1 person there the whole time. Everyone called 'em out, called the manager, and the cops came and took them away. If they got away w/ it, I'd be #100.
By the way, I should mention that before the vouchers were handed out, there were like 300 people in line. People have a strong sense of denial.
So yeah, I was #94 and Xeno was #95. Everyone who showed up Tuesday night got one. So satisfying...I couldn't believe we made it. We went and got some quick food, but came back quickly for the raffle. 3 people in line got free PS3s, and they raffled off their vouchers instead of giving 'em to 101,102, and 103. How would you feel after that if you were in that position? Sheez.
Finally, we stood in line to buy. went fine, got home 2 a.m. on Friday morning.
The first sold didn't go as much as I'd hope for, at about $1,135. I dropped it off in person to save on shipping. This came out to $220 profit for me and Xeno. We both definitely need the cash.

I'm holding onto the 2nd for now in hopes that demand goes up w/ the even bigger demand due to Sony's retardation. Wish us luck!
