    Help! Jumpy wiimote!

One of my wiimotes is jumping back and forth between 6 inches, and this happens every 3-5 seconds w/ the pointer. I know it's not the sensitivity because I set it down and it still does it. Any ideas?

Yeah, Wii hate is my wiimote malfunctioning. Unless anyone has suggestions I'm returning it for a functional one.

Besides, I don't hate the Wii, I enjoy it, but it has many flaws to iron out. I'm just glad I'm not one of the people who had their Wii bricked by the first update.

Happened to us and it turned out to be how far away we were standing from the sensor bar. It works best at 3-8 feet away. Does that help?

No, it doesn't change w/ distance. The other Wiimote is at the same level with it and it's not jumping.

Only thing I can think is when tv remotes act up you can sometimes take the batteries out for long enough for it to power down and lose it's little memory and then try it. But it sounds like you'll probably have to return it.

Oh, Kire, you just keep on bashing Nintendo, don't you? When will you learn that while the Wii may have its flaws, it will still be a major force in the gaming industry.

Do you have anything reflective near the sensor bar? I had my sensor bar on a very smooth table against the wall (I'm playing on a projector) and it was throwing the sensing WAY off. It was around 6 or 7" but my "screen" is 98" wide, so I don't know if it's the same problem or not. It turned out my table was shiny and when I placed a tablecloth over it the jumping was fixed.
