    Strange request....

I have tried to do some research on it, but I seem to come to a dead-end as far as names and specific info.

What I am looking for is African myth or folklore about either witches, changelings, or creatures that live underground.

This is for a RPGM3 game.

I don't know if you're going to find any of that. Most African folklore revolves around trickster gods. You could probably use some shamanistic stuff for witches.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. The real thing in my story is that there are African slaves who find something, and mistake it for something in their folklore.

You read from some of the slave accounts of what they thought they found.

Sorry, all I know about African folklore is what Gargoyles taught me about Anansi.

Have you heard the one about the leprechaun in the tree?

That is unhelpful. Talk to Sejon, he's got a bunch of mythology links.

Pretty much everything I've ever heard in African folklore revolved around Anansi in one way or another. Either he was extremely prevalent or those stories just endured more than others. Their was that one story about a prince who turned into other people to test which of three sisters was kind enough to make a good wife and princess but I don't know if he was a witch or what.

I'll check out the book I've got on mythology but it's pretty much either trickster gods like Anansi or Br'er Rabbit, or stuff about creator Gods who leave for one reason or another.

Maybe you should look into Sangrea or Voodoo.
