Obright - RPG Maker 3
ChuckRich - RPG Maker 2
ThetrueCoolness - RPG Maker 1
These are the contest judges. They each have 3 games to judge. Each RPG Maker will have a winner.
Scoring is based on Hitogoroshi's idea. Each category is to be scored on a 10-point scale.
Ideally, judges should complete the games they play. If the judge cannot stand to play a game through to the end due to it's quality, they can give up if they play for at least five hours and score it based on what they saw. the only reason this is allowed is because if a judge can't stand to play it all the way through, it's unrealistic to think anyone else would want to either.
PM contest reviews to me by december 31st (extensions will be given if neccesary), and do not tell the game maker their score in advance.
Thank you all for your help!

- Layout:
Do towns look like towns, or is a just a place with an item shop, inn, and the next story character? Do worlds seem real, or do you just follow a path from one town/dungeon to the next? In essence, this catagory is to distingush whether a game has paid attention to detail or if it's just a bland game where you run around killing story enemies, talking to townspeople, and repeating ad nasuem. Layout also judges whether towns/dungeons are balanced. - Plot or Concept:
This measures how cliched the story is (because god knows hell hath no fury like a Pavilionite reading a cliched story), how much reason you are given for your actions (long backstory vs. "You look able bodied! Kill things in that forest!") and how real the story seems. Note that this concerns any writings within the game (bad plot gets bonus points for good ingame books, for example). However, if your game is highly minigame based and has no writings beyond instructions...well, Tabloid kicked ass, and it took a hit in the Gameplay catagory, so suck it up and hope it's fun.
- Creativity:
The contests are out to critque our use of similar wizards. So, Layout shows how well you can arrange the resources given, Plot shows how well you can explain it, and Creativity is kind of a catch-all for everything else. Basically, it judges what unqiue things you have done to maximize the resources given. - Polish:
This is basicaly how professional the game looks. It kind of ties in with the other catagories, but thats inevitable. In a nutshell, the higher the score, the less it looks like it was made with a wizard (although, don't be hyper-conservative with high scores, because games made by a wizard will most likely at least slightly look like they were made with wizards.) - Fun:
This is the most important stat, and thus, if two games are tied the one with the higher Fun wins. (If the Fun scores are tied, it's a draw.) This shouldn't need explaining. Just bear in mind that replay value is a part of this stat (so, if you play it to judge and play it again because you want to, it deserves very high marks.
