    Think I'll get a PS3?

    So for the past few months it hasn't been my intent to ever buy a PS3. However, today my father and I were talking on the phone and he told me about how he was thinking of going to Best Buy after he got out of work on thursday and go camp out to get one of the 26 initial PS3 releases. He planned to sell it on eBay for like 2k or so and asked if I would be interested in coming with him, if so, he would be glad to buy me one- to keep.

    There have been a few games that I'm remotely interested (although none at launch) that I want to buy that are for the PS3. I figured if he was going to do this I might tag along.

    My question is, If I get there thursday afternoon, and camp out until the next day when they open, will I get one? From what I'm gathering from other boards and PS3 websites most people are going to get there thursday and camp until the next day. Only a few wackos are arriving by wednesday.
    Mind you I don't live in a very busy community, really just a bedroom community, but the nearest Best Buy is one town over right off the highway in a pretty busy open-air mall.

    I'm figuring even if I might not have a chance, I'll swing by anyway just to see. So what do you guys think?

    If you can get a PS3 for free why in God's name wouldn't you? You can just use it as a PS1/PS2/Blu-Ray player until the games people actually want to play come out.

      yeah, he really needs me to come, because my mother wouldn't go and you really need 2 people in case one person has to go to the bathroom/leave the line.

      My main concern is that thursday won't be early enough to get one, but if it is, I'm surely going to make every attempt to make it.

          You're right, I should have said 1.6k~2k. But they are going on eBay for generally $1,800ish.

            I don't think they're selling more than one to each customer so, you better bring cash. Also, I think each store is getting like 10 tops so, good luck with that.

                  Actually Best Buy claims they will have 26.

                  And I think a lot of people missed the point of this topic, I wasn't asking if I should get a PS3 or not, but I was wondering if, getting to Best Buy on Thursday would be early enough to stand in line.

                      LF is about the only one here I've seen express wanting to get one just for himself.
