The Fountain

There was a preview for this at Stranger than Fiction. Looks intriguing. It could be great or it could end up being something like Solaris or Event Horizon.

It's basically three seperate stories about people trying to find eternal life. One's a Spanish Conquistador, the other a doctor trying to cure his sick wife, and the third is a guy from the year 2500.

You really gotta check out the trailer to understand though.

Anyways I'd never heard of it even though it comes out in two weeks so I thought I'd share. I'll be checking it out.

Three separate stories? I was under the impression Hugh Jackman's the same person through all time periods.

I can't tell from the trailer and that's all I've got to go on. He does have the same name in each period.

Well I checked it out on comingsoon.net and they seem to be saying he is indeed the same person throughout.

It's a 3 hour glacier race in Russian.

Not to get into a stupid arguement over this - cause I do understand where you're coming from, I liked the 2002 Solaris.. (in different ways), but..

I think the "three hour glacial race" is what made me like the original. I'm sick of movies that move at a faster pace than real life.. I'd really even like it if they were *slower* than real life and injected more time for contemplation.

I think it's suppose to have a Xenogears type story. They keep getting reincarnated and she keeps dying and he keeps trying to save her. They aren't the exact same person living for a thousand years but they are the same person being re born

The Fountain trailer is so cool. I'm not sure the movie can live up to it.

Yeah I didn't really think the final product would really amount to much while watching the trailer.
