How do "Graphics" come into play regarding different platforms? Do you determine how good the game looks in relation to other games made with the same software? i.e., do RM1 games get rated by how good they look for RM1, and RM2 games get rated according to how they look for RM2?

kind of. while RPGM1 games won't be held to RPGM2 standards and vice versa, the graphics score is more of a "graphical presentation" score. doing the best you can with the software used.

This might be useful to have over here, too, since the criteria for "function" and "bonus score" isn't blatantly obvious:

how original is the concept, the characters, etc.

        B: Writing
does your dialogue suck? yes? no?

        C: Story
does your story suck? yes? no?

        D: Graphics
custom graphics, VFX, layouts, stuff like that.
Note: we will only judge what is there. we wont consider custom graphics (or the lack thereof) in the score if they arent in the game.

        E: Function
does the game work? does it crash? is the interface horrible?

        F: Bonus score
if the judge likes a game, they can choose to give it some bonus points.

With the extension, I might actually get done with something in time for this now. Maybe, I hope, we'll see.
Do you serve with a purpose or purposely serve?

Re: Contest #3 - Anything Goes

Hey Valk I have a question (sorry im new). Now that i have lots of xtra time to work on my game that I'll be entering in the anything goes contest, im considering making music for it, although it is an RPG Maker 1 game, I'm thinking of making mp3's that peolple could download and then they would play certian tracks when propted via computer or cd player...of course id make two versions within the game, 1 using my music, 1 using rpgm. music....So my question is would your web site be able to handle a larger download (game+mp3s). Thank you, just wondering...

we will not host anything that is an MP3. it has to be a game file (gme, max, sps, xps) or a text file.

Get a Max Drive. The Max Drive that can hook up to your computer, and just copy your game saves, on it the Max Drive and transfer it to your computer.

Then just send it to the site. In the submissions forum.

It is buggy though, and can corrupt your memory card at whim. Ask about what to do to avoid the data corruption before using it.
