    Sega Genesis Collection!

I just picked this bad boy up after classes today.

28 Genesis games in one package ... all for $20. So far, I think the selections are good--Golden Axe III being one game that I've ALWAYS wanted to play. Glad they put it in there. Also, they included the three major Phantasy Stars, two Shinobis, BOTH Vectorman games, even one of my favorite old-school games Gain Ground.

The emulations are almost dead-on. Near perfect. Just the music in some of the games is a tad off, but nothing too noticeable to detract from the nostalgic gaming experience.

My only MAJOR gripe with this is that they should have included all three of the STREETS OF RAGE games. What was Sega thinking when they omitted one of their FINEST gaming franchises EVER from this collection?! For shame!

Well, despite that, I'm still loving this. Have you Pavvies picked it up? You thinking about it? If so, do it!
Despite what you think, I am very, very real.

At the risk of making a topic change, I bet you couldn't get 28 Genesis games on the Virtual Console all for $20. Wait, $20??? And it has three Phantasy Stars on it??? I would've expected it to be more like $30 or $40.

I'll be picking this up for a strong desire to play Vectorman again. One of my favorite Gensis games.

Hate to disappoint you, Mr. Big. It's not in there. Wish it was. That and number 2.

Draygone, I felt the exact same way. Of course, $30 isn't that bad, but you gotta admit....$20 is irresistable for something like this!

I'll sum up Vectorman in three words, Von, my friend....

Wish i knew what the difference was between the PS2 and the PSP versions(besides the price). These are the kind of games that i would enjoy playing on the PSP, instead of a console.

I remember beating Vectorman's final boss on the first try, and I had never played the game before.

My friend was one angry little kid after that.

This sounds like a stocking stuffer, to me. I couldn't possibly remove PSU from my PS2 right now.

                    Re: Sega Genesis Collection!

my understanding, weeks ago, was that the psp version had fewer games. the ps2 version had a very small number of "hidden" games.

that's how it was back then anyway.

i had this on order until i cancelled it. i want it, but i can wait.

There's not too much of a difference between the two. I don't have a PSP, so the console version is the only thing I got going for me. If I had a PSP, I would have gotten that instead.

I tried that game out, and so far, I'm loving it. It screams originality. I also took a gander at Alex Kidd--what a kooky platformer. Especially when you have to play Rock Paper Scissors. Pshaw.....that is SO eighties.

                          Re: Sega Genesis Collection!

I actually made an entire Vectorman 2 game (before the sequel came out) entirely on paper.

I drew all the monsters and level designs. Each level had a theme to it, like school, animal, ect. And new upgrades for Vectorman.

I absolutely love Vectorman. That game is awesome as hell, I love it in a psychotic stalker kind of way.
