    question about dungeons

me and my friend started to make a game in rpg maker 3, but when we went to make our first dunge to make on, we had some struggles. I have 2 questions. First of all, in the dungeon i want there to be a lever to open a door(unlock a door) i dont know how to make the lever do anything. second of all, is there any way to make the dungeon icy?

    Icy as in slippery? No.

i ment ice as in ice you see for decoration... o, and i searched the forum and for the first question and found out you have to do an invisible event over the lever, but can you make that open a door, unlock it, or just give you a key to unlock it...

What you do is create an event with automatic activation with the condition that the the lever be "on". This event should change the event's mode to mode 2 (or any other mode, using the Add/Subtract/Modify Mode command found under Property Control heading. This is to prevent the infinite loop protections from shutting down the game) and give the party a treasure item to unlock the door with.

I recommend this alternative because I've had some problems with the other method. I can never get the button-activated event to work.

A lot of people are confused about the dungeon switches, since at first glance it seems to have pretty limited usefulness.

There's also an ice dungeon decoration style. Play with some of the options a bit and you'll find there's quite a few different styles of dungeon to choose from.

I guess the closest thing to icy youre going to get is set ceiling height to high, make the walls Ruins 2 and lighing at animated(dark) and room color to "Emerald"

it seems to give it an "iced over" look kinda...i guess....

I think one of the caves has a bluish color. Leave it at its default lighting or change its lighting to even more blue, and call it an ice cave.

Next time, please post your questions in RPGM3 workshop, not in RPG Maker General.
