Phantasy Star Universe (Offline Mode, All Systems)

Is this game worth picking up if I only want to play online? Or is it too short or dumb just to play for that reason.

I love PSO 1,2, and 3 to death. But is PSU worth it?

You mean if you only want offline?

The main story is kind of cheesy. It really feels like it's teaching you the game the whole time. However, after you've progressed enough you unlock extra mode, in which you can create your own character. If you loved playing PSO offline by yourself, I'd say it's worth it. The AI is terrible, but just don't rely on them.

There are topics on this game in the online section.

        Fixed.

The party AI blows in this game, but the enemies have gotten a whole
        lot smarter than from PSO.

          I'm not talking about online.

I don't even bother with offline mode. The real fun is the online game. Single player's like comparing orange juice with Tang. Single player ain't got the juice.

You can do everything online that you can do in single player, so why bother if you're able to play online?
              ...and that's why.

                Oh, oops.

Well it would be a mixed bag offline. You are forced to play through 4 chapters before you can unlock the extra mode, which allows you to create your own character.

The voice acting is rather crude and stiff character movements that make the scenes very fluid.

But it has a "decent" story from the 2 chapters I went through. But it goes through most if not all the areas of the online game.

Like I said, a mixed bag. I would at the very least, rent it before hand.

The furthest I got in Single Player mode was the Raffon Meadows, meeting Karen and that white-haired dude for the first time. Once I got my PS2 network and Guardian License, I've been playing online ever since.

Being able to play with Jeroak, Vonwert (you know who you are, beastboy!), Goufunaki, JSpaceman and many others from the Pavilion is a real treat. Ethan Waber is a party pooper who doesn't like to have fun.

I just don't want to p2p but I loved PSO.
