Re: Can you speak any foreign languages?
I took Spanish classes in high school and Japanese classes in college and did a self teaching Russian thing. I very vaguely remember a tiny bit from each. So, no is my short answer.

Re: Can you speak any foreign languages?
"I buy the tablet by the man in the corner."
Here's some (basic - I'm not going into the whole changing the verb because of the noun's plurality) phrases in Spanish with the literal English translation-
"Que hora es?" - What time is it?
"Adonde estas..." Where did (subject) come, coming from?
"Donde estas..." Where is...? (estamos for plural - "are")
"Habla espanol?" Do you speak Spanish?
"Chingar tu madre" - **** your mother!
"Un conazo" - a pain
"Cono" - what the hell / grief / do not want
"Chingo" - Lots of...
"Plata" - literally silver, but slang for money
"Guay" - Cool, stylish, sometimes used as slang to refer to your 'brothers', etc
"tienes dinero?" - got money?
"Tu conocer este?" - do you know this?
"Pinche..." - ****ing
"Que bonita" - How pretty (in reference to female)
"Que bonito" - How pretty (male)
"Que bruto" - How harsh
"Esta es..." - This is (in relation to female subjects)
"Este es..." - This is (in relation to male subjects)
"Hasta la vista, baby" - After the movie, baby
Remember that in Spanish, the noun comes before the adjective (big house = casa grande) and don't forget your accents and acentos!Last edited by jvrlopez; 10-31-2006, 01:29 PM.

Re: Can you speak any foreign languages?
My Spanish teacher in high school told us never to trust native speakers.
Pastillas are pills i.e. drugs.
