    Children of Mana a bust?

The early word on Children of Mana is that it isn't all that.

    http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/925586.asp

This doesn't surprise me at all...especially if you've been paying attention to what Squeenix has been up to lately. They've been off their game for a while, and I wouldn't be surprised if Final Fantasy 3 follows suit. I'm already trying to make myself finish Contact, and I'm sick of being let down.

I'll still give it a shot if I have enuff friends to play with. We'll see.

Isn't this the first thing after Legend of Mana?

Is CoM the remake of FFA or the new SD game?

Eh, Secret of Mana was awesome, but Children of Mana just doesn't look like it would match it. I think I remember reading it had random dungeons, which never really works out. It might be fun, but I wouldn't build up my expectations for it. Final Fantasy III will be great it you prefer character/job management over story developement.

Well, damn it all to hell. I just picked up FFXII, and now Children of Mana and Final Fantasy III DS are around the corner. Those AND POKEMON RANGER?!

My wallet can't take much more game-lovin' abuse.
Despite what you think, I am very, very real.

Actually there was Sword of Mana on the GBA. It blew hard.

            Ha ha ha, blew.

Seriously, it was pretty bad and annoying, and no where near as good as Secret of Mana.

It wasn't as good as Final Fantasy Adventure, the Gameboy game it was a remake of.

SD3 gives SD2 a run for its money. I don't know why it hasn't been released here in any form.

It looks to be doing fine (not great, but O.K.) with reviewers Where on there does it say CoM is bad Kire?

What the heck is with GameDaily anyhow.

Unlike other Final Fantasy games, the story doesn't have the same epic quality that keep players coming back for more, and the nonsensical dialogue remains largely to blame. The characters seem to have nothing important to say, probably because most of it has all been said before in previous installments from the long-running series. We also could have done without the characters breaking the boundaries between reality and the video game with lines of dialogue like, "If I press the A button, I'll attack!" So much for the whole "immersion" thing that Final Fantasy usually does so well.
I thought this was the "<insert> of Mana" series not Final Fantasy...

                              Probably what they're talking about.

And I don't care about the scores. Legend's co-op method was dumb, and the battles felt stilted.
