Usually, how long of a game do I need to make to be able to enter it as a suitable Demo version?

Re: A Demo Question
I don't think there are any set parameters as to how long a demo can be or should be, as long as it gives a good preview of your game. Obviously, you don't want to make it too long or too short, though.
There was an old RPG Maker 1 game, Viv's Quest, that was a few minutes long.Last edited by jvrlopez; 10-28-2006, 08:14 PM.

Re: A Demo Question
That length is fine.
If you're using an RPGM1 game, you'll need a dexdrive to copy the files off of your PS1 memory card onto your computer. Then email the .gme as a file to the pavilion.
If you're using any of the PS2 makers, you'll need either a shark port or a dex drive (preferred I think) to copy the file from your memory card onto your PC (.max extension for Dex Drives) and then email that in as an attachment to the Pavilion.

I'd scout around for better prices on the Max Drive. I remember getting mine for $20 at Gamestop when they had been out for awhile (around 2/05). It's a shame that you have to get the little cheap usb drive and can't settle for getting the software exclusively, since you can really use any USB flash drive. It's just the interface software (for the ps2, the PC disc is pointless) that you really need.
And I have no idea on the details of the Sharkport.
