I never did get it. I almost got it when I saw it at Toys R' Us once.

awesome. rpg maker 2 is in my top 20 list of favorite video games. hovering near the bottom bracket somewhere, but still there.

that's actually saying a lot considering how many games there are and how many of those i love.

I got it the day it was released. I'm three years older than that, now, I guess.

I, too, feel old. I bought it the day after it came out, but I lacked a PS2.

I remember reading the prima guide, manual, and gamefaqs forum many times.

Yeah I had it pre-ordered from Soft Etc. So I got it the day it came out. So much has happened with it since then. Oh and Ironically enough, I too just got done eating apple crisp today Nathan.

Three years old, already? Bummer. One would think I'd have created something playable on it by now. Besides that "Blamo's Quest" thing that the guide had in it.

Yeah, that's normal. It takes even experienced programmers a while to figure out how its ins and outs work.

so whats the best way to learn it, i can easily load the sample game and watch it, but is there like a "hold-my-hand" tutorial on creating a simple game anywhere?

Basically, just do random stuff and see what happens. You'll learn how it works, you'll potentially get a laugh at stuff like characters growing 5 stories tall, and you may even get gameplay ideas along the way.
