Re: Was the solar death ray already posted?
I was going to build one with David, but he told Clint about it, and him and Martin are doing it instead. But the power of 112 suns? That's just sweet. I like the sunglasses one.

With today's battery power, I may be able to make a portable solar death ray that has the power of 10,000 suns, all focused in about 1 square millimeter of space. Basically, a portable cut through anything in seconds kind of laser. The unnecessary felling of a tree, perhaps the growth of centuries, seems to me a crime little short of murder." ~ Thomas Jefferson

Like a portable, lame version of a lightsaber.
BUT COULD IT CUT THROUGH THE SUN?!!?!!?!Last edited by Azure-Neko; 03-30-2005, 08:15 PM.

!!!
That's one of the funniest things I've ever seen...

My friend and I had to make a solar oven for a class. It was only a black plate with a black tin can to put food in, with a tin foil dome and a plastic bag from Ikea covering. We were surprised to find that it had fully hardboiled an egg.
Lesson: Don't hide from UV radiation under a black tin can. Especially if you're an egg.Last edited by Translucid; 03-30-2005, 08:39 PM.

with your seemingly rediculous ingenuity and ability to be far smarter and more resourceful than anyone in the world, one would think that you would have built a scanner that project holographic images over the internet that people could download into their micorwaves.
in other words, i for one would like to actually see all these amazing things that you keep saying you can build. like your 4,000,000 MPH electric car that can go faster than any land vehicle ever made in the history of the world.
this isnt an attack, but it seem like 99.9% of your posts you try to 1up anything that anyone says. i would just like to see some backing to your claims.

Yeah dude, I like you, Terr, but I've been thinking the same thing. Talk is cheap, mother ****er.Last edited by Czechs Mex; 03-30-2005, 09:32 PM.

I agree.Yeah dude, I like you, Terr, but I've been thinking the same thing. Talk is cheap, mother ****er.
But until I get either a) a working scanner or b) a digital camera, I have no pictures of my car to post. Just in case anyone is wondering, it is not running yet(edit: clarify: not running as an EV yet. Inline 6 cylinder engine was dropped in it.), and is slowly being built as I earn money to dump into it. Most work has been non-EV related things like body work, since it was in need of restoration.
If anyone is interested, I can give computer simulations of this car(which as mentioned, are theory).
But an abstract of this laser? I have to design it first. It seems possible, and would cost some cash. But I haven't screwed around with the concept enough yet.Last edited by The Toecutter; 03-30-2005, 10:26 PM.The unnecessary felling of a tree, perhaps the growth of centuries, seems to me a crime little short of murder." ~ Thomas Jefferson
