Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, producers of the James Bond films, and MGM announced today that Martin Campbell will direct Casino Royale, the 21st film in the 007 franchise.

This is Campbell's second time as helmer of a James Bond film. In 1995 he directed the hit Goldeneye which introduced Pierce Brosnan to the role of 007 with great success.

If Pierce Brosnan's not in it, then it automatically sucks. :D

Goldeneye wasn't even that good. The game was.

Goldeneye wasn't too bad, IMHO.

But uh...wasn't Casino Royale already done in the '50s? Or is this a remake? And if it is, will it have the same wacky final five minutes of footage that the original had?

So, uh, yeah.

Goldeneye was the last Bond movie I managed to enjoy. "I am invincible!"
The more recent ones, especially the one with Halle Berry, were just laughable because of their forced wit.

And yes, the Goldeneye videogame was one of the funnest multiplayer games I ever played.

Yeah, they did it in the 50s. It was a made for TV movie though.

Ever since Connery left, they sucked.

In the 60s era Bond films, I LOVED that Aston Martin. Road shark if there ever was one...

They need to bring Timothy Dalton back: I don't care how old he is now.

I thought "Die Another Day" was great and made up for that really bad "Tommorow Never Dies" :shakefist

Timothy Dalton and License to Kill sucked beyond belief.

Jim Caviezel should play bond.

WE saw what he could do in Highway Men.

The DBS (http://www.c-r-y.org.uk/aston_martin_dbs6v.jpg) was one of my favorites. But, the car he most used in the 60s' was the DB5 (http://www.ianhardy.net/albums/morgan03/CRW_2589.jpg). That one came back in a few later movies, too.

The DB5 is the one...

It is so much like my little Triumph. Makes it appeal even more...

The best Bonds, IMHO:

1. GoldenEye
2. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
3. Goldfinger
4. You Only Live Twice
5. Tomorrow Never Dies

I've yet to see From Russia With Love or the Dalton movies. =(

I liked Dalton as Bond, he played the role with a bit more seriousness than the others. But I guess the public didn't like that so much after Moore's Bond.
