    Playtesting and Saves...

Hi. Really starting to get into my game now... got the entire intro out of the way and have built the entire first town and loads of fun side questions to go with it...

Now... I understand that RPGM3 imbeds the game saves within the database save (unlike RPGM2, where the save was a seperate (and very large) file). In order to save myself the trouble of having to watch the opening scene every time I make a tiny alteration, I created a save point directly after it, so that I can load up after the scene is over...

The bad part seems to be that if I make an alteration and then save my database, that convient save file no longer exists! Does this mean that EVERY TIME I MAKE AN ALTERATION RPGM3 WILL DELETE MY SAVES, necessitating a restart each time? How will I POSSIBLY be able to play test that?

Or, (please, god!) have I run into a one time glitch I'll never again see?

it it possible to just place the starting location outside of the area with the opening movie? or take out the prologue until the completion of the game?

I havent really messed with intros and stuff so i dont really know what im talkin about...so actually i shouldnt even be offering advice here...

ive been able to save plenty of times, do major alterations and resume right where i left off beforehand

Here I come Pav, like the Kool-Aid man barging into a funeral! Oh yeah!

      Re: Playtesting and Saves...

I think it's some sort of glitch. I use a single memory card for RPGM3 and alternate between the three saves as a go about my game, just incase I ever need to backtrack a bit (for whatever reason).... it seems that the whereever the game saves are stored (and I have a feeling that they are not embedded in the database saves, but are instead within the 'system' file), it doesn't like
it when you continually alter where you're saving your database..

Because, I've found, that my saves ARE there now... EVEN SAVES FROM AN OLD GAME I MADE WHOSE DATABASE IS NO LONGER ON THE MEMORY CARD! Very strange...

I just waited to put my intro in until I was done with the other portions.
