Watch out Wii! Copycats are here to scratch you up!

    http://uk.gear.ign.com/articles/740/740679p1.html

Good or bad, I dunno. Kinda seems copying is the new trend with Game companies.

This is only 3rd party, but still...

It's called keeping up to date with your competition. Other companies would be idiots to not try and copy the idea.

Nobody even knows if the idea will work, though.

Since when is the Wii the next generation in gaming?

Well, it's got more innovation than the 360 or the ps3..

Yeah, but it's not like Nintendo is the leader in gaming. Thus really there is nothing to keep up with.

Since Sony also decided to have a motion controller of some sort.

Seriously. Ps3 and 360 may have the graphics territory covered, but in terms of controller innovation, the Wii is lightyears ahead in the race.

Isnt sony ALSO trying to get a emulator engine built into the PS3 so you can play roms?

Nintendo Wii already has a large variety of support, and this 3rd party company sees an business opening with Nintendo's competitors. Not rocket science here. Microsoft and Sony aren't looking to be beaten my Nintendo, so coming out with similar technology that the Wii utilizes is an obvious idea.

Sitting ideally by and letting Nintendo pass them up would be silly.

Better to be right on Nintendo's tail, than waiting to see how it goes, and then being behind.

When In2Games showed off an early tech demo in central London this week we were certainly impressed. A tennis game created especially for Fusion and the accuracy and ease of use of the controller: to serve simply lift the baton up and strike it down quickly as you would in real life (watching out for light fittings when playing in a room with low ceilings), while playing a passing shot is as easy as playing a fore- or backhand pass. Additionally you can add spin or slice the ball by angling the racquet as you would if you were playing on centre court, the position of the face affecting the shot on screen. Better still the game comes with a racquet head add-on, a 10-inch hoop-shaped sensor that clips onto the end of the baton to enable you to play shots more realistically than with any nondescript remote.
Now that I read it more closely, it seems that you have to do more exaggerated movements (unlike the flicks of the wrist with Wii).

Yeah, that's true. Nintendo already made that mistake when they decided to wait before getting into online gaming.
