Their next-gen "fact sheet" states that you need to buy an HD-DVD drive for the 360, and says that a Hard Drive is required too, which brings their "total cost" to $698. They also say that a hard drive or memory unit is required for the wi-fi adapter. ANOTHER straight up lie.

They also state that online support for the wii is free for the first six months, despite it actually being completely free, forever. its the browser for the wii that will cost money if you don't download it before june.

This is complete bull****. Any integrity they ever had is now gone. there's no way to defend this behavior.

This just in. Apparently the Sixaxis controller's battery can't be removed. So once you run out of charages you have either get it repaired or buy a new one.

Horrible. I try, try, TRY to find things I like about Sony, and I seriously do, but jeez, with each passing week they get worse and worse.

Anyway, the PS3 is apparently not a game console according to Sony, so why don't they compare it to a PC?

That was pretty funny. Yeah, you only get the core system if you're not going to get that stuff in the first place, or are just misinformed.

Besides, the HD format war is going to fail. I sure as hell am not ready to replace my DVD collection for a difference I can barely notice.

Well, I've got some news. In 2010 they're gonna stop broadcasting normal cable signals, and solely cast HD signals, forcing you to get one.

I went to PS3 Fanboy.com to see how they reacted to this. Figured it'd be on there since it's on Joystiq but they didn't even bother posting it. Or the thing about 2 mil by year's end being a "target" that they won't likely meet.

It may be hard to imagine, but imagine this, what if HD war lost, then would they still do that in 2010?

Anyways I don't think standard definition tv's are gonna be through with. Hell, a lot of poeple have had the same boob tube for many many years.

HD to me aint that big of a deal.

I really doubt the sudden transition. A lot of people wouldn't be able to afford new TVs, and they'd probably just take losses.

Well, I've got some news. In 2010 they're gonna stop broadcasting normal cable signals, and solely cast HD signals, forcing you to get one.

The thing with that is they're trying to put the cart before the horse. They don't want to broadcast in HD until everybody has HDTVs and most people don't want to bother buying one until they start broadcasting it and give them a reason to need one. Like all new technology, eventually the prices will drop and it'll become standard but the expected date when that happens will get pushed back several times. The HD format war and multiple levels of HDTV quality are holding it back, average Joes like to wait until there's one main option to consider otherwise they worry they might be picking the wrong one, or that a better version will come right after they buy it.
