Trojan/Virus help

Someone I know has a virus called "Trojan Dropper WIn32" which keeps creating stuff on his desktop and he can't delete the trojan, even after finding and then deleting it with ad-aware/other anti-viruses.

Is there a way to solve this? Or is a full swipe of the HDD required in these cases?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Perhaps you could locate it in the directory and delete a component of it to keep it from running (or 'respawning').

Open Run and type in "regedit"

Do a google search to see it's common locations in the directory and other remedies.

Thanks! Found out that the only way to kill the virus was to swipe the HDD clean.

Help no longer needed! Lock, delete, whatever. Thanks!
