    Dex drive newb comin' through!

Ok, I found some dex drives for cheap. I wanted to know if I could use the dex drive on my PS2. My bro wanted to use a Vagrant Story game save and I thought about MAYBE playing some RPG Maker games.

    PS2? No. Computer, yes.

The dex drive doesn't connect to the PS1/2 anyway. So as long as you've got a PC and a PS1 memory card you're good to go.

Make sure your computer has a 9 pin serial port connection. Thats what the Dex Drive uses. Nearly all modern towers don't have one. You may need to get a usb to 9 pin adapter.

Yeah I got mine for $20 new off of amazon about a week ago, and it works fine. Of course my computer's about 2 years old (most of the parts anyway), but you can still find motherboards with the serial port, just most have the parallel one instead. Though if not USB to serial convertors are pretty cheap.

Still haven't used it to play any RPG Maker 1 games, though I did find a couple that only require 2 memory cards, so I'll be playing those soon. I do now have all my PS saves backed up to my computer now, incase I ever forget to take them out when playing demo discs again (especially those from playstation magazine).
