    Panda's Poem Topic (Edited Title)

    Golden Calf

    divisive terms
    fervor flowing
    "not like us"
    no need to discuss
    the holy war
    the new crusade
    territorial trade
    that turns the time
    the shifting power mandate
    declare a state
    for those similar
    inclucivist nationalist
    a different interpretation
to shift the shadow of conflict eternally
without war we have no unity
least common dominator claims a truce a farce
    deny relate relative gain
too late a perfect hate pushing inward borderline
can't recognize quite so blind mandatory
martial laws to force away the tension sway
    nobody wins a different take
the casualtes of pride a nation-state
    to masturbate the growing regime
    severity rules the great divide
"do we intend to stand alone"
    sinking no support
isolationists with bloody hands choking sands
1967 land for peace oh please
your foolish lies non negotiable racial hand grenade
looping an animal scream a death knell for the process
the door that cannot swing freely
dissolving into such an angelic flamefilled absolution solution
falling down a people's laws crimson wretched crown
learning to deal with a world entrenched in bystander apathy
    man your own jackhammer
    man your battle stations
we'll have you dead pretty soon...

Re: Look at that, more freeform poetry.

I get a strong since of hating our current government from it. Do you really have that much angst towards the way the country is run? Or did I misinterpret the poem? I like the poem, though there were a lot of times words seemed VERY forced, even for the way the poem was written. Maybe less words crammed in next time? It creates a very jagged picture the way it's written right now.

      y'misread it, it's about israel..

It's less a poem and more an obtuse block of text - when I write these things, I just **** out words as they freely associate to me, in a big stream of consciousness rant. I broke it up cause I felt you guys wouldn't much care for a huge paragraph without punctuation.

It's intended to be used as lyrics, regardless *shrug*

      try this one on:

      (it's untitled as of now)

transparency beguiles a sinister sort seeping and seeking cremation and loyality when will we face the terror life is the murderer slowly spilling over us a razor's edge a dream come true madness and ignorance calling us where's the guillotine hanging down opposed to the cold start the ashen wind the condensenation of normality wrought wrong and deserving the chained up wake awaiting the sanity to bring romance can't feel what once was acceptable to the land into the loosed terror sinner power player on the grid in the center for slicing saw an iron affair mirror gladiator deserving this soot covered wisdom covered strangers waiting for it run flee freeze threefold fate finality injured illusions let loose hanging opposing twitching turning the end drooling clapping below a cheer
      man your own jackhammer
      man your battle stations
we'll have you dead pretty soon...

Mix this **** up with some nice jazz and you've got my approval.

          just posting more poetry
          this one is less freeform

          The Yew, Pt. 1

          Seated amongst shadows
In absence of river, rock or cloud
          The man watches nothing.
Formless and definate, moving through stillness
          The veteran of ten-thousand twilights.
          man your own jackhammer
          man your battle stations
we'll have you dead pretty soon...

I really like that last poem, it creates a wonderful image of divinity in my mind.
