    DEVIL SUMMONER!!!

I just got my hands on the game. They only had 2 copies that came in at my local EB Games and I got one of them. I was so excited that I went straight here to tell you guys. I'm about to start it, I'll let you guys know how it is.

Keep up updated on it. I might consider picking it up, too.
Despite what you think, I am very, very real.

The story is pretty well developed (at least for now!), there is alot more dialogue than I expected. And the way each demon has skills to use outside of combat is really cool, makes you wonder more if you should really get rid of your older demons, since even if they aren't useful in combat anymore, they all have useful skills.

However, the party member AI isn't very good, either they chain-cast spells or don't cast them at all. You need to pause the game to issue orders whenever you want them to cast a spell, then pause it again when you want them to stop wasting their mp. Combined with the fact that the main character never upgrades his attacks, I don't know if the battles will keep being fun as the game progresses.

The game is kind of like a Persona-Star Ocean hybrid. You search out for clues and the like through out the capital, like the detective you are. And the battles remind me alot of Star Ocean. As Karim already said, you have to specifically tell the demons what they need to do everytime. The hacking and slashing is somewhat repetitive, but the battles can be pretty challenging. Without the right type of demon you might get completely overwhelmed. Unfortunately, most battles can be won simply by slashing at your opponents. A sound strategy is a great idea, but alot of times isn't needed. Well, I'm not that far into the game so that may change (I'm like a little over 5 hours in.) So far it does seem like a decent game, I just miss the strategic turn based battles of the previous games. I'm looking forward to see how the story goes along. The SMT series always has an unique story to tell.

...Nope, after playing Nocturne as long as I have it becomes second nature. It is basicly the same deal.

After a while of playing Devil Summoner, I'm still enjoying it. Until I run into the boss I like to call F*** f***ity f*** f*** s***!!! I hate you mister radio tower boss.
