My school is being infested with lice! Just a few days ago a lice epidemic broke out in my school and now over half the school is infested. I go to a private school so it's K-12, apparently the outbreak started in 1st grade and made it's way all the way up to high school (where I am). Everyone is going nuts because literally everything is a potential source for lice infestation. We have people cleaning the carpets, combs and clothes in the lost and found are being confiscated, and letters have been sent home to family members urgeing them to clean their houses.
Basically if you have lice, your not welcome in the school anymore. I'm serious. The letter clearly states that if you have lice your not allowed back into the school until a doctor says your clean. Everyone with long hair is putting it up (even the guys), and they even changed the elementary bathrooms into screening rooms for the the nurses and doctors at the school. Over half my class is infested and tests and whatnot are all moved back until everyone can make them.
Luckily I'm clean, so no get out of school free pass for me, but because of all the hullabaloo about lice, my head keeps feeling itchy. Anyway, it's pretty strange, rumors about who is "infested" are flying around everywhere. For the last few days I've been shampooing twice as much in hopes to stay away from the lice.
