Teaser for my first game, Duder and the Mage.

    Everyone interested,
Here is a quick teaser for my first RPGM3 game, which will be ready in a few weeks for the contest. Questions and comments are welcome.

    Duder and the Mage

Everyone who takes some hits off a joint expects reality to bend a little. But Duder and Jane had no idea just how much reality could change. After sharing a joint together, they suddenly find themselves held captive in a town run by evil frog mages. As they escape, they get help from other humans, who found themselves in the same drug-induced predicament, and they begin to learn magic.

But, at the same time, they begin to learn that escaping from this trip will not be as easy as casting a few quick spells. At each turn, they find themselves face to face with new dilemmas testing them to the limits of their being. Will they turn against one another? Will they find a way back to earth? Is all of this just in their heads?

From frog mages to zombie gorillas, from island escapades to desert treasure hunts, this game will have you hooked from the second you push start. There is no telling what to expect in this voyage of surrealistic fantasies gone wrong.

    Features:
    -A very enjoyable, quick-paced 3-4 hour adventure.
-No random battles; all battles are events (and there aren’t too many in any place to bog down gameplay).
-Healthy battle pacing (in regards to both difficulty & leveling up)
    -Humor and quirkiness throughout.
-Mature content in a very immature game.
    -Correct grammar and spelling!

Author’s note: I just got RPGM3 about two months ago, and made this adventure as quickly as possible to have it good for the contest. It is a linear journey, with no side-quests and not much optional material. But it should be a very fun playing experience. I made it as an intro for myself, to learn about the software and about making RPGs in general. But, more so, I made it as a quick, enjoyable game to play with friends while drinking.

Seeing as how you don't have a forum yet, I guess I'll post here. I know that we as game makers crave feedback from those who play our games, so I'll try to give you some in this thread.

I downloaded this today, and played for about 30-45 minutes. Even though I did not really enjoy the premise, or all the references to erm...so this does not get "librarianed out"...female dogs, I did have fun playing the little that I did. I'm not really a fan of games as crude as this one, but you have given me support here at the boards, so I want to play this and see what you've done with the software. I'll keep you posted on my progress, but I think I'll be looking forward more to your first "serious" game. All in all, no real complaints about it. It's laid out well enough, and I want to see what happens when I enter the, erm..."poop" hole.

I don't drink or do drugs anymore, so the drug humor does nothing for me. Likewise the potty mouth all the characters seem to have. But I know there are those here at the boards that are into that kind of stuff, so I know that this game has an audience here.

Anyway, I'll post as I get further into the game. For today, I just wanted a taste of what the game was.

EDIT: Also, just curious as to why this is your first game, the one you were getting your feet wet with, and yet its file is RPG Maker 3 game data 3...

Thanks a lot, Perversion. Bypassing the ludeness, I think you should enjoy the game. It's only a few hours long, so it won't take much of your time to finish, and there are some good moments, I think you'll see.

I didn't ask for a forum, because I didn't want to be presumptuous.

The game is file 3 because of a bunch of logistics, not because I made three games. Here are the details: it started off, of course, as file 1. I moved it back and forth between memory cards and my memory stick. I think it got changed to file 3, when I tried to put whispers on, which was also a file 1, and had to move it off, then put whispers in, then I think that your game took file 2 on that mem card and when I moved my game back from the other memory card (I loaded it ingame from one mem card then saved it to the other)it became file 3.

I can't believe I wrote that out. Sorry about the grammar, but I did that section 'stream of consciousness'.

Funny thing is, I don't even do drugs anymore, either (never did much). I do drink, though. I gotta ask what your name Perversion, means, though. To me, a person named Perversion would be quite perverse. I guess there are different ways to be perverse though.

Anyways, thanks a lot for starting my game. Hope to hear more about your progress.

I've mentioned before, but I'll mention again...Perversion is a song by Stereolab, and was also the name of a cute little (meaning, I made her at minimum height to make her look like a little girl and have a nice juxtaposition between her name and how she looked) FoNEWEARL in PSO on Dreamcast. I logged probably 300-400 hours with that character. So that's the story. As for my own personal preferences (sexual and otherwise) that might be related to my name, I refuse to discuss them.
