    Genesis Games

I just bought a Genesis for 14 dollars, I thought it was a good enough deal, and I need some suggestions.

    I have the following:
    Sonic
    Sonic 2
    Vectorman 2
    Golden Axe
    Streets of Rage
    Columns

What are some essentials I am missing? (besides Gunstar Heroes)

    Phantasy Star I, II, IV
    Altered Beast
    General Chaos
    Toe Jam and Earl
    Road Rash

Personally, I like Pirates! Gold. Not sure how much other people like it, though.

PS1 was on Master Sytem, though, wasn't it?

Anyway, I would also recommend Phantasy Star IV, as well as Sonic & Knuckles.

          Castlevania: Bloodlines
          Sword of Vermilion
          Valis
          Valis III
          Gaiares
          Lightening Force
          Steel Empire

And if you can find it..... Crusader of Centy.

I've seen that one (RKA) all the time at the store near here. Now that I see someone recommended it, I might go ahead and get it. That would put my Genesis games count at 4.

Forgotten Worlds, maybe? It's decent, anyway. How about Shining Force? Kid Chameleon?

Seriously, Rocket Knight is AMAZING. It has some of the best 2D level design ever seen to this date.

                      Re: Genesis Games

After I started collecting video game systems (odd, I know) in the beginning of the year, I found out something very important. The genesis doesnt have a lot going for it. There are a few gems, but almost everything available for the system is crap.

Wait, you have Sonic and Sonic 2, but you don't have Sonic 3 or Sonic & Knuckles?

                        GET ON THAT!

I remember the good old console wars between the Genesis and the Super NES.

Oh man, that had to be the ugliest battle between Sega and Nintendo I've ever seen in my lifetime.

I will say one thing though--the Genesis had some really badass shooters.

I remember having to choose between getting a SNES or a Genesis. I had played both and the SNES seemed to be the better option. I remember asking my Dad for it as a collective x-mas present for me and my siblings. I actually had to lobby for the SNES. He had purchased a NES a few years back, and I remember him saying "This is the last system I'll ever buy for you, right?!" My answer was a resounding "YES!"

We have both now, but I play the SNES a lot more than the Genesis.

I was happy with my Genesis.
