The Mary Sue Litmus Test! *snark*

Sorry, I couldn't let this go unnoticed. Today I looked up "Mary Sue" on Wikipedia after seeing it over and over again in a comic strip I've been reading. I found out that it's a fictional (usually fan-fictional) character that is either cliched, meant to represent the author, meant to be the author's ideal, meant to be better than all other characters, etc. It originated with a Star Trek fan fiction parody character named Mary Sue Whipple in the 1970s.

Anyhow, the Wikipedia article had a link to a "Mary Sue Litmus Test" that's supposed to help you gauge whether or not the fictional character you've created is or is not a Mary Sue. I thought it was cute.

Hmmm, I got a 75 for my detective character, but I don't see how....oh well.

Don't worry, Vonwert. I just put Batman in the Litmus Test and he got a 156.

25 for my character Hioku. Although it's mostly becauses he's mortal and in the past, which skips a lot of questions.

21-35 points: Borderline-Sue. Your character is cutting it close, and you may want to work on the details a bit, but you're well on your way to having a lovely original character. Good work.

My characters for my game scored between 4 and 71(That 71 was the only one to score over 35, as I intended for that character to be that way), but most of them were around the 15-30 area.

The one character I put to the test scored a 29. Huzzah.

i got 63. makes sense, cuz my character is an exaggerated version of me, plus other things I would like to have in common.

56-70 points: Über-Sue. You've got one hell of a Mary-Sue on your hands here, and it's not going to be easy to set things right. But do your best. There may be hope for you yet.

Batman is smart, but I doubt he was smarter than Einstein. Batarang physics is a little easier than nuclear physics.

My main character is like that, and got a 35.

Does the character have a significant personality flaw
                          Oh, come on.
11-20 points: The Non-Sue. Your character is a well-developed, balanced person, and is almost certainly not a Mary Sue. Congratulations!
                          15. **** yeah, bitches.

And Batman can kick Einstein's ass.

Low scores are great and all, but are all your characters as cool as Batman?
