Somebody's Getting Fired....and a Lot of People May Be Sued.

Final Fantasy XII is out. But not in a good way.

It's been leaked to torrent sites.

That's what they get for taking so damned long to release it.

Okay, what about the game plays itself? I haven't been following it or anything, so yeah...

Oh no! Now we won't get anymore Final Fantasies because America is full of pirates!
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

First off, the fualt not just lies in the pirates, but someone at Square Enix.
Looks like someone just violated their non-disclosure agreement.

They're talking about the gambit system which you pretty much input actions the team will take when it gets into battle. Basically having the characters do "auto" commands based on what you chose.

So in turn, the game plays itself.

Kinda reminds me of ogre battle.
I hope the storyline is a break from the FF usual, too.

              Come on, Square. Redeem yourself.

I'm not even interested in stealing this game, that's how dissapointed I was with 8-10. They should just combine 6 and 7 into some kind of bizzare storyline and make Cecil the main character.
"At first it just looked like a picture of a bunch of lily pads, but then I started scraping at it with my pocket knife and the whole painting just sort of spoke to me," Schmidt said. "For the first time, I finally understand what Monet was trying to get across in her work."

Garr, that's what they've been doing ever since 7.

No it's not. You the player are making the choices and setting up the gambits. Just because the game follows a script doesn't mean it's playing itself or that all the control is out of the player's hands. Square is getting away from the press x to attack, press x to attack, press down, x to use cure magic, press x to attack that's definded J-RPGs up to this point.

Yup, it means I'll potentially be making a whole lot more use out of non-curative spells.

But that's not what this topic is about. What I'm wondering is, how exactly are they doing this? I thought it wasn't possible to emulate PS2 games due to the complexities of the Emotion Engine or something like that.
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

From what I gather, they're not emulating it, they're just providing a rip of the game, which you have to burn to dvd and play on a modded ps2.
It's not a functional game which works on your computer, just the data from the original game, still in ps2-usable form.

                              Re: Somebody's Getting Fired.

From the previews, I've heard that at the start of the game gambits make progressing kind of brainless, but later on enemies will get hard enough to make the system more of a necessity.

Can't believe the game got leaked though. Looks like we'll see strat guides even sooner.
