    Google Earth

I've known about this for awhile and I'm sure some of you know too, but I found this really cool app that let's you explore the world from the comfort of your computer: http://earth.google.com/ The basic version is free and allows you to visit virtually any location on the planet. You can get close up views of major cities, monuments, or your house by just typing the location into the search bar.

Anyone else think this is really cool?

No. I'd prefer there be places where a satellite cannot spot your own personal property. The amount of privacy we have in this world is rapidly shrinking, often without the consent of those who may own property with the intent of keeping it hidden.
The unnecessary felling of a tree, perhaps the growth of centuries, seems to me a crime little short of murder." ~ Thomas Jefferson

I guess that's just the world we live in. I see your point though, and agree.

So, Big Brother is indeed watching us.
Despite what you think, I am very, very real.

              This is the flying car:

However i cant post pics of the topless lady, even though its hard to make out anything.

EDIT: Oh, and there are also several advertisments people put out in their yards for google earth, kinda fun finding them

d2king10, where are you getting these landmarks? Is there a page somewhere?

Might be one of those billboards that advertises a junk or scrap yard by having an old car stuck up on a pole.

                      haha, that's really cool D2!

Hito: try taking the tour, it brings you to the grand canyon, mt saint helens, the vatican, and some other cool places. You might want to try New York City or the Eiffel tower too.

Also, it's pretty fun finding your house.

I'm pretty sure it's just a white car sitting next to a black car.

Also, the "topless sunbather" could easily be a dude in a speedo for all the detail you can see. More explicit things have been posted in the Free Forum.

it's a lot more clear when you are over very specific places. tried looking at my house, but it gets too blurry.

still pretty cool, though. i like rotating the map to make it look more 3D.

I've found some houses that have purple roofs!
Purple is not just another color, it is a way of life.

And if you look at some parts of the southeastern US, you'll see some blue roofs, and they ain't paint. Thanks in part to the 2004 and 2005 hurricanes.
