What TV shows do you watch?

    Season premieres are everywhere!

    What are you watching?

    Me:

The Office - This show is funny and I laugh

LOST - Stupid season 2. It was such a roller coaster of good and crap episodes. But when it was good, it was like, great.

Wow I thought I had more.

I don't think I get excited watch anything else.

    yeah

I do not receive broadcast TV or cable, so if I want a TV fix, I'll usually watch my 24 DVD box sets or my Seinfeld DVD box sets. That's all I really want to watch if I had TV anyway. Although, I DID kind of want to see the series premiere of Ugly Betty last night. I liked America Ferrerra in the film Real Women Have Curves, so....yeah.

Since I decided that internet > cable, I don't watch anything except the occasional new simpsons episode (and I usually end up regretting it). The only stuff I miss? The History Channel, National Geographic and Discovery.

Dave just got the Profit DVD, so I'll finally be able to watch that series.

Re: What TV shows do you watch?

Throught the wonders of my DVR I'm watching pretty much everything.

                        The Good

Can't wait for Lost. Any issues I had with the quality of Season 2 were blown away by the finale.(oh man I'm so witty) But the drag of waiting months to get all of it in is killing me. I always say I'm just going to wait for the DVD and watch it all at once but I always end up caving.

Studio 60. The second episode wasn't as good as the pilot but it's Aaron Sorkin so the banter is first class. Still up in air but the fond memories of Sports Night will have me watching all season. Again one of those shows that just seems to go by too fast. I'm gonna go ahead and declare it the winner of the battle for fake SNL shows. Even beats MadTV at that.(rimshot)

Battlestar Galactica. I need to find the DVDs because I've yet to see all the episodes but it's so darn good. Whenever I see the promo that has Adama speaking to the crew over the guitars I get chills.

Shield. Season 6 isn't for another couple of months but still gonna include it here. I don't know if I'll be able to forgive them for the events of the final episode but it definatly promises to ratchet up the stakes, again. The best at subdued intensity.

Office/My Name is Earl. I lump em together because I watch em together. Earl is good but I feel it's not getting justice by being only half an hour. Another show that has never achieved the same quality as it's pilot. Office is painfully good. Seriously it's like the 40 Year Old Virgin where Steve Carrel is just so socially ackward that it hurts. But it's got one the best ensemble cast of characters. Both however always seem to end abruptly which is a huge buzzkill for me.

Grey's Anatomy. I admit I watch it. But I do so for the supporting cast and their storylines. I don't give a crap about Meredith or Derek. I just wish she'd make a damn decision about him and have em move on to something else. But without the other people this would be nothing but the OC in a hospital and would probably turn to crap just a quickly.

Scrubs. Isn't as shiny as it once was but still easily the best comedy out there. But even I'll admit there's not a whole lot of substance to the storylines. Sometimes it's just a way from fantasy sequence to fantasy sequence.

                        The Bad

Smith. Not sure about it yet. Sorry Ray Liota no matter what you say in magazines you're always gonna be the guy from Goodfellas. Just not believable as anything other than a bad guy. One of those shows where I just don't care about the personal side of the story. Franky G cancels out Amy Smart.

Jericho. Winner of the "I hope it gets cancelled and picked up on cable" award because it really suffers from being on network TV. It just has that bland writing to it that makes everything cliched. I know it want's to be CBS's Lost and it's got all the signs. Group of people isolated and struggling to survive, way-to-attractive-to-be-here girl, a love triangle between the nice girl and above girl, mysterious guy who seems to have all the answers and could be more than he appears to be. But it's all geared for mass appeal which ends up making everything spread to thin. I have hopes for it because I love the premise and I've even willing to give ole Skeet the benefit of the doubt, but realistically, I just don't seeing it ever living up to expectiations. And you know they're just going to end up coming up with stupid storylines.

Heroes. The other candidate for hoping for cancellation but lost out because it doesn't have as generic writing and because NBC is really pushing it. Again suffers from being held back by network TV. It definatly has potential but for both succes and failure. Pretty much the same stuff as Jericho but not as bad. It just don't got no pizzazz to it.

ER. Watching it mostly out of habit now. Sorry John Stamos, you just don't do it for me. Maybe if you played it as Elvis like you did on Full House.

                        The Ugly

Ugly Betty. Ha ha. I'm so gosh darn clever. I watched it just for the hell of it the other night. I think my penis prevents me from enjoying it. It's like Stella's grove got pregnant the night after her big fat greek wedding and couldn't fit into her traveling pants anymore but it was okay because real women have curves and the baby was Ugly Betty.

Seriously, just look at those teeth. They single-handedly saved the steel industry. I find them strangly hypnotizing.

                        The Unseen.

I recorded Six Degrees but haven't watched it yet. Not really appealing to me.

The Nine. Wins the award for most cryptic. I don't know, maybe it's just me but when trying to find out what the hell the show is about is like pulling teeth I can't help but fear that maybe they're hiding their show for a reason. I'll give it a shot but I sure wished I knew what the hell I was in for. Another novelty Lost show. Could be the best one. Could be the worst one. Who the hell knows. It's a ecret. It's a mystery. It's The Nine.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

Re: What TV shows do you watch?

                          Too much.

                          And the list keeps growing.

For my quick picks of the best things on TV: Battlestar Galactica, Veronica Mars, How I Met Your Mother, Lost, and Studio 60.

I'd also like to do a quick plug for Season 2 of Doctor Who which premieres tonight on Sci-Fi 8 pm EDT.

Can't wait for Torchwood which should start in late October.

If you mean, what TV shows I watch on DVD, then the answer is Battlestar Galactica.

I also watch Adult Swim Fix.

                            That's about it.

Well, my TV is right next to my computer so I often have it on just for some background noise, even if I'm not really watching it.

Like, right now Krypto the Superdog is on. Something I would never actualy watch. But as random noise it's pretty good.
