    Class Questions

Hello all, I just got this game over the weekend and have been able to play around with it only a little bit. I was trying to make classes for my group and it comes to the page where you have stats like INT and LUCK. I was wondering if someone could give me some examples for what to put for the following classes:

Fighter - High Def and Atk, no MAG
Melee - High Atk, Mid Def, some MAG
Caster - Low Atk, Low Def, A lot MAG

I was also wondering if you could make skills that use MP, but do not use Magical Defense of your enemy to decide how much damage you do.

    Thank you in advance

    Re: Class Questions

To the best of my recollection, any "skill" (read:spell) that uses MP is always considered magic and will always be compared against an enemy's Mag Def when determining damage. There is a way to do the opposite...there is a special ability for weapons (and I think skills) that lets you do a physical attack, but it gets compared against an enemy's Mag Def instead of regular Def when determining damage. As for your initial stat setup, the only method that really works is trial and error. You need to give the enemies some value for their stats, and then adjust your characters' starting stats based on how easy or hard the battle is, or vice versa (start with character stats and adjust the enemy stats). Also, see Crimson Knight's comment in this thread http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/...ead.php?t=8621 for more information.

Not to be a jerk or anything by ripping this one line out of your question, but what exactly do the INTelligence and LUCK stats affect? I was thinkiing INT was somehow linked to spell/skill damage or effectiveness but its not: I cranked up one character's and had another at 0 and they both did the same (+/- 5) damage to the sample monsters I put in. (I also thought it was like a difference between caster/target but that didn't pan out either...)

Uh, any help would be... helpful...

        According to the manual...

LUCK increase your chances of scoring a critical.
INT is how "smart" the computer would play that class if they were an enemy.

I know I own the manual... What page is this on? I [EXPLITAVE DELETED] hate reading through the manual!!! More now that I've come here for all my tech support needs...

what i usually try to do in those situations is set the following increments:
            Fighter - Def+3, Atk+2, MAG+0, INT+0
            Melee - Atk+3, Def+2, MAG+1, INT+1
            Caster - Atk+1, Def+1, MAG+3, INT+2

they could be +9, +6, +0 or whatever you want, but this gives a good distinction between the classes, especially in the higher levels when it appears to the player that the game characters are honing their skills in a certain area when they were pretty much even at first, I added INT because INT determines your MP count during a game, where MAG determines your magATK and magDEF

As to your other problem when I have it i just set the enemy MDEF to 0, or put the enemy weakness to the magic attack im trying to perform, that way it deals more damage, but that only works effectively for 1 enemy or group, I havent found a good way to fix that yet

**Make sure you read 2 lines further to a corrected error I made in this post**

INT determines your MP count during the game, LUCK determines your probability of having the upper hand in a random decision, like getting poisoned/critical/miss/escaping/etc...

Ok I stand corrected, you can adjust how much MP you move up in player stats, so yes then INT would be this, I know in RPGs ive played INT determined max MP points

I should have put all these replies in one post but I thought about them at diff times, sorry

If you wanted them in one post, you should have used the 'edit' button. Double (and especially triple) posts are frowned upon here, like in many communities.

Actually, to give you a bit of a heads-up (as well as getting off-topic (go me!)) ususually the most important things here are that you don't spam, you use understandable grammar(meaning that it doesn't have to be perfect, but not requireing a linguist to understand), and that you don't get obnoxious until at least after your 100th post. And then you have some competition for that last one.

                      Anyways, I'm done.
