Why are the leads usually horribly miscast in comic book movies. Or most movies for that matter. They need to let the SpiderMan casting director handle every movie in the world. Those movies are cast perfectly if you allow the awesomeness of J.K. Simmons to cancel out the lameness of Kirsten Dunst.

Robert Downey Jr. is one of those actors I put up there with Johnny Depp. He can do ANYTHING. He's got a movie coming out soon called "know your saints" er something. Did you see "kiss kiss bang bang?" Yeah. He's awesome. I can see him pulling it off.

has the man done any action movies? I don't think i've seen any of his movies (leading roles at least) so i can't picture him as an action star.

Well it's not like he's gotta be the guy in the suit for all the action. At the most some scenes where he tests the suit without the helmet and then a few after it gets dramatically knocked off by the main villian during their fight.
