Re: Why you shouldn't give a DS Lite to a 5 year old
The fact that he snapped it in half and it still works is beyond me.
I concur.Originally posted by EvilNixon666YES. ^^When he asked to have his DS Phat back, I said "No. This," dangling the snapped DS Lite in front of his eyes, "is your DS now."
But coming from somone that has anger issues. If he was older I could relate with his plight. You store up all that anger and just the littlest things make you want to explode. I am usually strong enough to think before I act, even in anger, thus why you haven't heared of me breaking my DS.
Of course my DS is my own, and I can just go out and buy another.
But now I am going off topic...

Re: Why you shouldn't give a DS Lite to a 5 year old
He's five. FIVE.
Give him some goddamn legos, lincoln logs, crap that isn't expensive and easily breakable. The dad's the one that should have his groin pummeled. He's given his kindergartener two expensive, technologically-sophisticated toys and he expects them to come through unscathed?
What? If he was older, then he should be expected to know better. Maybe I'm getting this age/maturity thing backwards. I thought kids were usually trusted to behave with more maturity after they had matured some.If he was older I could relate with his plight.Last edited by Shard; 09-26-2006, 04:12 PM.So you're a fish out of water...

By older, I mean like 20 or so more years older. Like an adult. And he broke his DS out of rage. Trust me, maturity goes out the window when you are enraged.Originally posted by Shard View PostWhat? Little things like video games can get me angry somtimes. I threw a romote control and a PS2 controller playing Soul Calibur III.snapped his DS Lite in half over the weekend in what I can only imagine was an apoplectic fit of rage while playing Space Invaders on the handheld.
But this kid is friggin 5 years old. Theres not much anger to store up at that age. Thus I don't feel to bad about what happened to him.Last edited by Red Dragon; 09-26-2006, 03:38 PM.

Edit:Slow response to Red Dragon
Going to stick to your guns eh? Alright, you've got moxie, kid. I won't subscribe to the idea adults acting in a childlike manner is more acceptable than children. Five year olds get mad all the time; visit a theme park.Last edited by Shard; 09-26-2006, 03:53 PM.So you're a fish out of water...

Re: Why you shouldn't give a DS Lite to a 5 year old
Hell at 5 years old most kids will play with the box and ignore the actual toys but this kid appreciates Space Invaders even thought it doesn't have flashy graphics or Cartoon Network anime characters so I gotta give him some credit. But there's a significant difference from enraged anger and a tantrum. This was a tantrum, everybody does it until they learn they can't get away with it and by not giving him his old DS back the dad has gotten the kid a whole lot closer to that lesson.I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty!

I admit to swearing a blue streak at my TV screen while playing video games, but I have never attempted to damage a game system in my fits of rage.
I didn't own a game system until I was seven or eight."They shouldn’t have called it Earth, they should have just called it the wipe-your-own-butt planet."

I beg to differ. When I was 5 years old I was angry little ****. Though, I rarely did break anything... other than action figures with a hammer. But that is just for intertainment.Originally posted by Red Dragon View PostBut this kid is friggin 5 years old. Theres not much anger to store up at that age.I had to change accounts.
