    Nightfall Features

    http://www.guildwars.com/support/gam...nts/nightfall/
NightfallTM brings more than a dozen Heroes to your aid as you battle against the forces of darkness. Each of these Heroes will gain experience at your side. You can even equip them with new weapons, upgrade their armor, and choose their skills for them. Best of all, you will be able to direct your Heroes in battle, telling them when, where, and whether to fight at all. You'll even be able to activate their skills for them. The amount of control is up to you. Use them like enhanced henchmen or direct them much like extra, full-fledged characters. The choice is yours.
Sickness, I actually play Solo most of the time because of LAG, or I PvP. So this is nice for me.

In addition to Heroes, Nightfall introduces two new professions to Guild Wars—the Dervish and the Paragon.

Dervishes serve the gods as holy warriors, using their deadly scythes to carve a wide swath through enemy lines. True masters of the profession can even assume the forms of the gods, taking on divine aspects to mete out justice.

Paragons are humanity's champions, the guardian angels of Elona. They rally their followers with Shouts and Chants while striking from afar with their mighty spears.
Old, but Dervishes have scythes, thats a +20 in my book.

Nightfall provides two brand new arenas for your PvP battles—the Sunspear Arena and the Churranu Island Arena. What's more, you'll be able to take your customized Heroes into PvP battle! These Hero vs. Hero battles will let you pit your character and up to three Heroes in a one-on-one PvP competition against other players.
Wow, I REALLY want Nightfall now. This is looking a whole lot better than the Prophecies to Factions transitions.

Also, On September 22 even people that don't have GW can play Nightfall. Just go to the website http://www.guildwars.com and see all the fun you are missing!

So if I was going to have just one version of GuildWars would you recommend Nightfall over the other two?

Get them all. Or just get Nightfall and Buy the extra $40 unlock set for PvP...

Until I play Nightfall, (you can too if you go to the website the 22nd, even then though...) I can't reccomend it.

Also, of the two that ARE out I reccomend the first if you where going to get one.

For anyone that DOES play Guild Wars out there in the pav, the paragon has a new shout called "Cant Touch This" (makes me wish for him to have the Hammer Time dance) that negates all touch based attacks, just to count the "evil touch rangers"

          Damnit, Guild Wars rocks.

I wouldn't worry about paying for all the expansions. I remember in another topic I did the math and concluded that you would save like $80 a year as opposed to a monthly fee. This doesn't even include the new content and professions you're getting with Guild Wars expansions.

            15x12-100=80

So ya, if we where to compare with WoW price that is. and GW comes with 2 expansions every year...

            2 new classes every expansion

            IF GW lasts 5 years...

So that's 18 classes, 7 continents, 3000+ new skills (assuming they only release 600 skills per year) around 300-500 new side quests, 80 new main missions. And overall will cost $600 (for all guild wars).

Jeez, all the guild wars or a PS3...

WoW 5 years (w/out buying the expansions which might add alot more content) is $900.

*Only using WoW because it has such a huge fanbase and is a P2P MMORPG
            **My math may be wrong...

              Re: Nightfall Features

I'd certainly agree that's true. The reason I figure I'll just get one Guild Wars if any is just I probably wouldn't spend enough time playing it to take advantage of all the content.

                Re: Nightfall Features

I suggest the next one then, that way you will play with more people PvE rather than the stragglers from the other two... Like me...

But, you wont be able to play Assassin/Ritualista...

Also BTW thre ARE going to be new skills for the A/Rts So that throws my math a little off.

                    Re: Nightfall Features

Any of the GW games is worth it, and I think the games will be set up so any character can play through all the campaigns you own, though Prophesies seems to be the weak link. Plus each expansion after the first adds 2 character slots, so owning just Nightfall gives you 4 slots, then you get 2 more slots with Prophesies and Factions each, for a grand total of 8. You can also buy character slots from the GW online store, though. Plus if you own both Nightfall and Factions you can make characters from all 10 classes for PvP.

I'm playing a little of the preview of Nightfall, and it's not bad so far.

The guild I'm in is looking for some new members, so if you PM me with your character name I can get you into the guild.

I should be getting Nightfall when it's released.

                      Re: Nightfall Features

How many members are part of your guild?

My guild right now has about 20 or so members, but none of them are on when I am on...

Also, are you Kurzick, or Luxon?

If it wasn't for the Assassin and Ritualist, factions would be much... much... worse.

We're Kurzicks and presently only have about 15 members. Most members are fairly active (And half the guild knows each other IRL), and we're trying to get some PvP and RP events going.
