    8-bit Interlude

Post any NES stuff here that you please, and we shall reminisce.
For starters, here's my top ten NES bloops and beeps, in no particular order:

    Top 10 NES songs.

    Do these sound familiar?

Edit: If you want to take a crack at figuring out what is what, it might be in your best interest not to scroll down until you're done guessing. The current high is 7/10 by Gloomy.

damn, makes me wish for an midi game.

They sound very familiar but I couldn't place them without vgmusic.com

    Damn,

Two ****es me off so much because I know I've heard it. I'm going to guess Earthbound Zero
    Three I don't know, Castlevania?
Four is definatly megaman sounds about middle of the pack but makes me think of Iceman.
Five sounds very Crystalis but I don't think that's it.
Six is only the best title screen ever!
    Seven is super familiar
I don't think I've ever played Eight but I know I know of the game.
Nine is the same as Eight, never played
Ten would be complete if it had the sound of only two hearts because it seems that whenever I hear it played I only have two hearts.

The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

Should we guess?? I only recognize two.

4 is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and 6 is, of course, the Moon stage of Ducktales. 5 sounds familiar as hell.

But the others are really good! Even without knowing what they're from, I like 'em a lot.

#2 is the title screen to Dr. Mario, of course!

            1. is Solstice. That's an awesome song.
            2. is Dr. Mario, like Ryu said. Used to get that song stuck in my head a lot.
            3. .... tough. I dunno. Double Dragon?
            4. This would seem totally familiar, but Kefka pointed out that it is TMNT.
            5. BARFL!! Sounds so familiar that it HURTS!!!!
            6. Oooohhh yeah, Ducktales. Listened to that just today.
            7. Sounds like Little Nemo. Dunno though.
            8. Haha, the beginning of this one sounds like the theme from Close Encounters of the Third Kind (you know, with the Simon game).
            9. Not much of an idea... Deja Vu? It sounds a bit like Shadowgate music.
            10. I dunno.

Crap in the end I only identified one new one.

                Yes indeed.

                1. ???
                2. Dr. Mario
                3. ???
                4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Not sure if it's 1 or 2)
                5. Blaster Master - Stage 1
                6. Ducktales - Moon Stage
                7. Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom
                8. ???
                9. Deja Vu
                10. Blaster Master - Story (FRED WENT CRAZY GO NUTS)
Yep! And adding in the game Translucid got, that's 8/10. The final two games are repeats (i.e. they're already on the list).
I think number 8 is my favorite. I could sit at that password screen all day. 1 and 6 are good, too.

Okay, now that this topic seems to be dying, I'll just say that song 3 was the in-game music from Solstice, and song 8 was the password music from Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom. That was fun, let's do it again sometime.

I've been listening to The Minibosses' Live From the Middle East CD. That's some GOOOOOOOOD shiz.

Mega Man 2's got some rocking tunez.

Magus, is the Mega Man 2 on that much different from the set they have for free download, and is it the same where the songs are played verbatim? There's just something I don't like about the free download version.

I'll get back to you on that, I'll have to listen to the download version to answer that effectively.

Here's a website that has 10-15 NES bands, as well as links to their downloadable content. I haven't looked them over much yet, so I don't know who is good.
