Okay, so I installed the latest version of iTunes and it prompted me to restart. So, of course, I do. Anyways, when it restarts it goes to that Fat32 scan thing, except it won't allow me to skip it. It also goes extremely slow. Like 1 percent every 30 seconds. I just went, "Meh." This wouldn't be that much a problem, except for the fact that it locks up at 32 percent. So, I attempted it again -- same problem.

Sooo, I went into safe mode and did a system restore. Restarted, same problem. So, now I'm in safe mode with networking. And I'd really like to be able to play AoK and stuff and not have that weird effect when I scroll through webpages. Anything I can do, without wiping my drive?

Uninstall iTunes, then report what happens.

Seriously. I don't remember not being able to uninstall things in safe mode. I though that was one of the major points of Safe Mode, to allow you to get rid of things messing up your computer.

So is it scanning your computer, like is it a windows scanning program (scandisk) or one from the program. I know when you hit F8 during boot you could try last known good configuration (doesn't always work), though you may want to wait to see if their is a workaround first.

So what version of Windows do you have?

Although I haven't heard of iTunes doing anything bad to a PC until now.

(I love iTunes 7{On my MacBook.})

iTunes sucks. It screwed up my entire music folder. I can’t find ANYTHING.

It gives me an error message when I try to uninstall iTunes something about safe mode and stuff.

I'll try that last working whatever.

Yeah, it usually doesn't do much, though it was supposed to be helpful.

What you could try doing is getting a program that will show you your startup tasks and let you turn some of them off (though of course this is for windows startup tasks, and may not work for things that start before windows). Check out this http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml program for that. You should be able to run this during safe mode, and I'm pretty sure there is no installer needed, since it's just a simple utility, that used to be in windows. So if it's iTunes doing the scanning, you might be able to turn it off. Now be careful what you turn off, as some of your start up tasks can be important.

EDIT: Well nevermind then, though this tool is still useful to keep tasks you don't need on startup from running.
