    I've STOPPED playing Kingdom Hearts =)

    OK, long story short: someone at work somehow thinks that I actually WANT to play Kingdom Hearts for some reason, and I would feel bad if he went to the trouble of bringing it to work and didn't play it. I don't really WANT to play it, but the principle of the thing supercedes my wants or needs.

    SHFC, I hate you.

    it's got the cutesy disney stuff, but still an interesting story.

    KH2 on the other hand just seemed like a waste of time almost.

      The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

          I understand the first KH told original stories, compared to KH2's taken liberties with the movies it had playable. I will forever hate the Pirates of the Carribean level. And I dread seeing the Lion King level.

            They at least integrated the Final Fantasy cast members a bit more fully into the game, rather than having them be just five-second cameos like in the first Kingdom Hearts.

            The secret ending for the first Kingdom Hearts made it seem like KH2 was going to be a lot more mature, but it barely moved up in the maturity level. And they almost, ALMOST did one thing really great for KH2, but then they ruined it for no particular reason.

            If Kingdom Hearts 3 or whatever comes next is anything close to what the secret ending for KH2 indicates, it should be quite a bit different in style and theme, but I'm not betting on it.

            You're really not missing anything, Funk, if you manage not to play them. You basically get bastardized versions of all your favorite Disney and Final Fantasy characters. The Pirates of the Caribbean level is truly terrible, mostly because they didn't have Johnny Depp doing Jack Sparrow, but also because they took a lot of the great lines from the movie and changed them ever so slightly so that they sucked.

                I just remember watching a friend try to beat Sephiroth in KH2 and all he did was fly around and use this super powerful chain attack.

                It didn't seem that neat.

                  Oh, yeah. Sephiroth in KH1 is the easiest optional boss I've ever fought. Don't know about in 2, though.

                    I will say that the big Heartless/Nobody/Good Guy battle that takes place at Hollow Bastion, where all the Final Fantasy characters fight with you, was pretty badass. Having Cloud and Leon (Squall) fighting back to back was fairly stellar. This is right before the scene I referred to as almost being great, because you're led to believe that Goofy is killed and this fuels your rage while you run through a canyon getting combat support from the different Final Fantasy characters in the Hollow Bastion world. This was the best part of the game until you reach a small save area and Goofy is just fine. I swear to God, if they make Donald and Goofy the default party members in the next KH, I will not play it. Their voices are just too distracting.

                      Did they ever say why they renamed him Leon?

                        Um... in the Character Profiles he's listed as having changed his name so as to remind himself about the past or something. It was kind of vague and stupid, especially considering they didn't change other FFVIII character names, like Selphie. I like him better in the Kingdom Hearts series, anyway.

                            Changed his name because of how he was fooled as "Squall" into doing a villain's bidding and keeping the name would be a constant reminder of his mistake.

                              I just got bored with the whole, go back to each world to do one thing, then go back to another world, and so on. And the battles were just boring to me.
