I love those ghost shows but about five minutes into them I start glancing nervously over my shoulder. >.> I'm awful with that kind of thing.
It's actually kind of comforting to know that even huge tall guys like you get freaked out when alone at night.

DOOD! i recently got my own place and my bedroom doesn't have a door infront of it so i sleep in my livin room most of the time (if i even stay home at all!!) it really scares me at nite. i swear every time i pass it i see someone (or something...) staring at me.... I REALLY NEED TO STOP WATCHING SCARY MOVIES AND PLAYING SCARY GAMES IN THE DEAD OF NYTE!! >.<Comment

Yeah, night lights are the bomb.
Although, I saw a creepy shadow coming from mine when I was twelve, so I stopped using it.

I don't know about night lights, I prefer to sleep in complete darkness. It makes you sleep better, as having light in your room when you sleep can ruin your sleep.
I think I've seen things pass by that weren't really there, but I either ignore them, or go get my aluminum baseball bat, or my sword (actually I've never done that, but if I really thought something was there I would).
